I was born and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, (aka the Steel City)in an era where the steel industry was king. The city was known as a gritty blue collar town that grew and prospered by the natural resources found underground and the access to move raw materials and finished goods along the famed "three rivers" within the city's borders.

My life's experiences and passion for sports was forged like the good steel made in the mills that lined the rivers banks. I lived and breathed the ethnically diverse communities that made Pittsburgh the city that it is and also was the lifeblood for the heavy manufacturing industry.

I developed a love for writing at South Hills High School during a Creative Writing class where I learned to express myself, my thoughts, and dreams with words. Ironically, as a Freshman in college, my English professor pronounced my compositions as "verbose and nebulous". Although I had to research what those terms meant I was not discouraged with writing and transfered my love of writing to the business world where I worked for a many years writing and interpreting data for budget increase requests or for sales reports.

Now I have come full cycle and am writing again for fun and pleasure. Basketball had always been an enjoyable sport to play and coaching my son for six years while continuing to learn the nuances of coaching has been a rewarding experience to share the lessons learned as well as my views of the various world events and experiences.

My hope is that I am able to bring some thoughtful words that you will enjoy, agree, or disagree with like the "three rivers" that transported raw materials to make finished goods for consumption.
