Hi, I'm Craig an avid model railroad fan. Follow along with me through my articles and my blog posts as I try to share some of the fun and enjoyment I get from my railroad "empire". I'm not claiming to be an expert, we all learn something new in this hobby every day we engage in it.

While model railroading is the best hobby in the world, at times it can be intimidating to beginners. Model trains, and all the aspects that go along with them, can be expensive.

It is my hope, through my articles and my blogs I can help beginners avoid many of the common mistakes and even save some money in the process.

My articles will try and cover overviews of numerous subjects related to model train layouts.

My blog, Model Trains and Stuff covers most of the aspects of planning, designing and building the "basics" of a model train layout.

Model Railroad Terrain, my other blog at this time, covers mostly terrain and scenery ideas for your model railroad. Stop by either or both and leave a comment telling me what would like to see covered. I'll do whatever I can to help you out.

Here's to your great railroad empire!

Model Railroad Scenery - Adding Ballast
