Everyone has one novel in them.. apparently? I haven't been able to find it, maybe should add yet to that statement? May still happen, but in the mean time I enjoy publishing articles about current and past affairs that in my opinion were reported with a huge bias towards the wrong party or parties.. please note the "in my opinion" which quite obviously will not be the same opinion as at least 50% of the opinions of the original article.. even if the 50% is just the one.

Because of where I was brought up I have a love of photography (a lot to photograph out there as is everywhere but our animals are bigger!) and would love to be able to teach people photography, simply. My website deals with a lot of "making life simpler"

I was born and bred in Rhodesia (Southern Rhodesia at the actually date of birth) and continued to live in the country when it evolved into Zimbabwe Rhodesia and then of course Zimbabwe. We managed to continue to live in Zimbabwe until just taking my kids to school involved having to change the windscreen yet again as they were not impervious to large rocks being projected at it, rather tedious and then inflation got even more annoying. I owned a pub and when it got to the stage where I had to buy a beer (bottles in that country)get it cold sell it and buy it's replacement all within 6 seconds in order to make any sort of profit at all the idea to move on was formed.

I'm not an writer but growing up in Africa and then living in a 1st World country since 2004 gives one a different perspective on every day happenings, politics and what people feel they really really can't do without!

My articles will have a DIY bent as that was something else I found rather strange coming from a, dare I say, backward environment to a place like the UK. No one fixes anything here!!? If it's broke toss it? I farmed in Zimbabwe for a period and when we complained to the Minister of agriculture that we were having to repair our tractors with barbed wire due to the lack of spares.. his answer.. he would look into increasing the foreign currency allocation for barbed wire!

It was a great deal of fun though.. I hope you enjoy my articles and please feel free to comment.

Wage Gaps Perception And Reality
Six million four hundred and ninety five thousand three hundred and seventeen (6,495,317) Is the number of people the FTSE100 companies employ and one of them only employs 40 people. They also represent over 85% of the capitalisation of the country and their CEO's are being castigated because they earn…

Problems What Problems?
I grew up on a farm in Southern Rhodesia and we lived in a house made of bricks and a tin roof, had a toilet that flushed and plentiful hot water thanks to an invention called a Rhodesian boiler. I need to digress slightly to explain a Rhodesian boiler. It…

One Directional Racism
A definition of racism is the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as superior or inferior to another race or races. Maybe a more simple version would be the hatred or intolerance of other…

Reality And Perception Continues
I hate football, at least the stuff played at any level beyond high school which is nearly impossible to watch as presently school policy very seldom allows for our offspring to get rid of unwanted energy in such dangerous past times as any form of sport using anything heavier than…

Who is Going to Pay the Ferry Man?
Face Book and other social media can be a two edged sword with many an indiscretion or unwanted publicity being broadcast to the World to see, however on the other side of the sword, so to speak, they do get to many millions of people and with luck changes for…

Why Do It Yourself?
Man was invented to provide, and in the interest of political correctness I will modify that to humans were invented to provide, just in case there really were women out there at the dawn of time who would have preferred to cut down a few tree and slit a few…

Is the World Any Better Or Worse Than the 60's
In the middle of the Second World War people were born, a simple fact, was that not a terrible time to bring a child into the World? Thankfully not or most of us would not be here. It is worth sparing a thought though, there are countless periods in the…

Stuff they Said
Everyone reads the papers, ok not everybody, but for those that do, read the articles with a mind set to criticise them for content boarding on stupidity or maybe just plain funny when not intended to be. It makes reading some of the garbage out there palatable and I have…
