Dwayne Wilson was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After studying English Literature at Morehouse College for three years, he decided to take an early departure and pursue acting.

Dwayne had a recurring role in the television series I’ll Fly Away (Directed/Produced by David Chase) and has performed in plays by August Wilson, William Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard and others. After moving to New York, he desired to develop a creative voice of his own and returned to school to study filmmaker.

He received his BFA from City College of New York in Media Communications Arts where he received the Sydney Meyers Award for outstanding achievement in film for his short Limits of the Imagination.

Subsequently, his documentary Creating A Culture of Peace for the Children of the World was screened at an exhibition at the United Nations. He recently received a MFA degree in Screenwriting and Directing from Columbia University. His screenplay, Hitting Close to Home, has received numerous awards including The Zaki Gordon Award for Excellence in Screenwriting and a 2011 Quarter Finalists in the Academy of Motion Picture and Sciences Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting.
