Please allow me the privilege to introduce myself to you:

I am a retired physician who is starting a second career as a full time internet writer. I grew up in one of the snowiest places on earth – Buffalo, New York. My lifelong ambition was to become a physician. I was an average student as a youth. It wasn’t until my mother discovered that I needed glasses to see the blackboard that I found I could be a better student. Upon obtaining my first set of glasses in 4th grade my grades improved dramatically. I could now see the blackboard! That particular pattern,...an obstacle to my growth…develop a strategy to overcome it…and discipline myself to change, has been the pattern for my life. I was not born with any obvious physical or mental gifts. My “gifts” have always been developed through encountering trials and gaining victory over them.

I attended a very competitive public high school (Kenmore West High School) in a suburb of Buffalo, New York. Because of a lack of academic discipline to my studies (in high school I preferred football, ice hockey, and girls to studying) I had to attend a state college before I could transfer to the University of Buffalo. Notice the same pattern? By the time I was at the university I was committed to getting into medical school…which I did. I attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1978. From there I completed my Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine.

I practiced medicine in several different areas of the United States and served Migrant Farm workers in Florida. That experience helped me to understand that people do much better when they are given a hand up versus a hand out. Contempt develops when a person does not work for their success.

I am now ready to share my experiences with others in order to inspire them to achieve more than they ever thought they could. Take an average person, with a great vision for their life, and they will win every time. I know this because I am an average man who has achieved more than I ever dreamed I could.
