Joseph Smith (Street Articles Author)

I love living in the St. George, Utah area. Being a dad of six children keeps me on my toes for sure. I graduated with a four year degree in the Humanities with an emphasis in French Literature. My professional life over the last 18 years as been in general business. But I keep coming back to what I love- Writing, relating with people, and enjoying the 'Human' side of life.

I love Thoreau's thoughts:

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary.I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms.”....Which is why I moved to Southern Utah:)

I hope my articles bring comfort to some and bring about change in others. For now I'm mainly concerned about 'Dad' in our society. We need 'him' so badly. I'm no expert, but I think I've learned a few things raising my kids. So, I'm building a bridge across a pit, that others may cross and not fall.
