My name is Kelsey. I just started at Street Articles in 2014. However, I have loved to cook, read and write for most of my life.

In my picture, my hair is auburn. This is my natural hair color. It is also fairly short. This is because two weeks before this picture was taken, I had had my hair cut and I donated ten inches so that it could be made into a wig for a child who has lost some or all of her hair. This is something that I have done ten times. I was inspired to do this when two close family friends were diagnosed with cancer two decades ago. Thankfully, both of these people are still alive now and I have made use of my hair as a renewable resource. My ends do not split and it does not bother me, so this is good! In the picture, I am holding a platter of roasted vegetables that I was able to share with others at an event that I attended.

For cooking, I typically view recipes as suggestions. Sometimes, I follow a recipe precisely the first time but then make changes when I make it again. This is frequently true when I make items such as bread and cookies with which I am less confident about what I am doing. With soup, salad, and pasta, among other items, I have made the foods enough to choose my own adventure without needing to stay inside someone else's established boundaries!

Mixed Tomato Salad With Roasted Eggplant
This is an example of a recipe that has well-developed flavors but cannot be prepared at the last minute. It would be best to start it earlier in the day to make sure that it can be made properly. It also is assembled on each individual plate and looks gorgeous!…

Orange Ginger Braised Carrots
When cooking carrots, it is easy to prepare them so that they taste absolutely lousy. They get boiled until they become mushy and do not have much flavor at all. Or else they get steamed for half of forever and not seasoned with anything so they do not have much…

Recipe for Bok Choy And Pineapple Salad With Peanut Dressing
This is a salad that uses Asian flavors and ingredients. However, it is incredibly refreshing and flavorful. The dressing is food processed to make it creamy and to make the ingredients combine more fully. Then it is tossed with fruit, vegetables, cilantro and peanuts for a fresh salad with a…

Orzo And Roasted Carrot Salad
This is an easy salad to make that can be chilled. This makes it refreshing to consume on a hot day. It is also made out of a small number of ingredients, most of which are fairly cheap. There are also different textures and flavors in this salad, which is…

Roasted Butternut Squash With Fettuccine
This is the type of dish that takes some time to produce. For this reason, it may not be the best choice of most people on a weeknight. However, the squash can be roasted two or three days ahead without any issues for the production of the final meal. I…

Apple Pizza Recipe With Homemade Dough
A long time ago, I learned that a literal translation of “pizza” from Italian to English is “pie”. I though, “Okay, so in Italy, there is no apple pie of the kind that is used for desserts. It would be interesting to see what would happen if cooked apple were…

Wilted Spinach Salad With Apple And Avocado
I especially like this salad because it uses a small number of ingredients but produces a dish that showcases their flavors and the differences between them. There is crisp mixed with soft, hot mixed with cold, sweet mixed with sour. All in a simple little salad! This is a recipe…

Crunchy Cabbage Salad With Ginger Sesame Dressing
This is a delicious salad that will go well with Asian meals. This is especially true if you have a dish that maybe has chicken or beef and rice but not much in terms of vegetables. I love how many colors are present in this salad. This means that it…

Crisp Dinner Roll Recipe
This is one of my favorite bread recipes. It requires starting to prepare the recipe. The rolls will be light and airy but with a crisp, caramelized exterior. Also, they do not require the use of any oil, milk or eggs. Adding any of these ingredients would make the final…

Kale And Anchovy Salad
This is a salad that forces you to get into it and fully experience the process of salad preparation! However, the process is fun and it results in a salad that is miles away from a salad made by open up the packaged greens. Wash them if they are not…
