My name is Matt Connell and I began martial arts when I was eight years old. I studied only TaeKwonDo under master Mun Ho Cho for about a year and a half before beginning study in hapkido and Headong Kumdo. Once reaching my first black belt at age 12 I knew that martial arts was my passion. Throughout my teenage years I studied Judo, Sambo, and Maui Thai whilst teaching TaeKwonDo and Kumdo. I also made a habit of getting into street fights as a teenager (we all make stupid decisions) with my friends who did mma, boxing or the same martial arts as me. Once in college I became interested in the combat training of the armed forces and learned many techniques from my cousin and sparring partner who served in Afghanistan with the United States army. Today I am still as passionate as ever and encourage everyone to learn martial arts for either personal development or self defense reasons. I am currently not teaching but rather learning. I'm studying Keysi Fighting Method in my free time.
