Penny Saved (Street Articles Author)

Hello. My name is Tessa. However, I more commonly go by, Penny Saved. I'm a stay-at-home mother of two. I enjoy working outside, working in the yard and taking in the fresh, spring air. I also enjoy the study of theology and modern dance.

Currently, I am working on a website geared toward sharing money saving ideas for individuals and families, hence the name, "Penny Saved." I'm greatly interested in this site because it is my hope to become debt free in order that my family may give more. Thus, I'm interested in saving money! Saving in order to give.

It is my hope that you enjoy my articles.

A good and wonderful day to you!

-P.S.

Should I Take Out A Loan? What Do You Think? I Need to Know.
Growing up, while my family was frugal (e.g. we rarely, rarely ate out, we weren't allowed to purchase things that we asked to get at the store, such as toys, etc), I wasn't taught about money. Yeah, I was perhaps warned about money with the proverbial expression, "Money doesn't grow…

Welcome, Heidi Ann - - My Burden And My Joy
Heidi Ann, our daughter, arrived! She was born on May 26, close to 9pm. She's a pretty thing, with her full head of hair. At almost 8 weeks, she smiles when you talk to her, and she even at times talks back. She's a surprise to us in that we…

Give, Save, Spend - - the Value Of Teaching Children About Money
Children begin school quite early nowadays. Preschool starts quite possibly as soon as the age of two, then begins kindergarten at age five or six. While homeschooling does exist in the U.S., it is the norm for children to be taught by persons other than their parents. This includes education…

If You Had $75 Billion, What Would You Do With It?
This is for all of the sincere philanthropists and economists out there and for those who are simply interested in giving. Beginning in 2004, the first Copenhagen Consensus project took place. Since then, there has been Consensus projects in 2008, and then again, this May, in 2012. In late 2002,…

High Hopes! Could Internet Marketing Be the Answer?
I'm quite new to internet marketing; I'm only two months into it to be exact. Since last December, 5 months ago, I've had something on my mind that I just can't shake. I have a dream, a hope, one that I don't want to go away, that I don't want…

Do We Desire Our Kids to Learn A Foreign Language?
While in college, meeting abroad students, one quickly learns that many outside the U.S. are bilingual, yet, while in the U.S., many students in our schools are not. Yes, we educate our children in Spanish, French and perhaps German, but by and large, foreign language class is considered laughable, rather…

The Joy Flowers Can Bring
My husband and I purchased a home about 2 years ago. It takes work (yikes!) to maintain the lawn! But every now and then we are given refreshment--to look out at the grass, freshly mowed . . . the flowers, this color and that color in bloom . . .…
