I am a teenage hippie and baby boomer. I grew up in the 1960's and 1970's. Now I am 60. I am living in a dystopian world where greed and bigotry are in fashion. Religion freedom is trotted out like a favorite puppy when there are guests, but beaten into submission when no one is looking. It is an ugly society quite a bit like the science fiction books I read when I was a teenager.

I do not like being a part of this world. I do not like even acknowledging that America could fall from such lofty ideas, values and ethics to have to scrabble in the dirt with the disaffected, greedy and bigoted citizens.

I will wait for America to become Great again, for it is not great now. It is ugly and sad.

Well It Is All Over Now
My Dad has died. He was the be all to the end all to me when I was a small child. He was a smart, educated, complex man who died before he should have in a place where he shouldn't have without his family present. It was the end of…

History is Being Made
When I was 16 years old I was living history and didn't understand it. I am 60 now and feel like I am living history again. When I was sixteen I was learning the power of a group of people registering their unhappiness with a political system that sent kids…

Custom Jewelry - more Fun And Less Expensive Than I Thought it Would Be
My wedding and engagement ring were beautiful. But the prongs caught on everything. I had holes and catches in all my good scarves and sweaters. When the prongs caught they sometimes broke off. I would then have to get them put back on. After awhile this became a little expensive.…

You Never Know When You Might Change Someones Life - if Even In A Small Way
You never know what how one thing you do can affect another persons life. It is such a tenuous thread that exists between people. If you meet someone today-you may never know that you have in some way changed their life, even a little bit. I had never thought about…

Blurring the Lines
I have thought more about Politics and Religion in the last year than I have thought about those subjects in my whole life. I am 59. Politics and Religion have always had their separate but equal places in Americans lives. I never thought one was more important than the other.…

Mortality And Questions Of Life
My Mother died a year ago in January. My husband and I took care of her while she was ill. I found myself contemplating my mortality and asking questions about my life status. As I watched my Mother fail day by day, it made me all the more contemplative. It…

Luxury Camping
I love RV Camping. It is not the kind of camping my Father liked. No it is luxury camping where you take your home on wheels wherever you go. And you can go where ever you want. It is like having a cabin that you move around. Our friends, who…
