Roberto Garcia (Street Articles Author)

What's up everyone! My name is Robert and I'm really excited to be part of the street articles community! Well a little bit about me. I've grown up from humble beginnings. Both of my parents still work to make ends meet despite my dad being 65 and my mom being a little younger. It kills me seeing them working still and getting home tired from work and just not having any energy. One day I just said to myself, enough is enough, I got to do something about it.

In school, I've always been told I have a gift for writing and expressing myself in a creative way. I'm naturally an introvert, but I have a gift of speaking in front of crowds. I get scared as hell, but people really like my down-to-earth approach and they think I'm hilarious. I'm a very spiritual person, and one day God came to me and said that He gave me these talents for a reason, and it's my responsibility to use them to help people. So then I thought to myself, hmm there's got to be a better way to make money than just working a 9-5 job in an office. I'm a sagittarius, and trust me, we HATE being couped up indoors for long periods of time! So then I got the idea to start up my own website called and to join street articles to showcase my writing talents to the world.

I've never been obsessed with money. I've never had a lot of it so that's probably why. But I do realize that we need it in order to be able to survive and live a nice life. I've grown up seeing my parents fight over money, or the lack of it, and I hate it. They've almost gotten divorced several times and it's all because of money. I want to be able to one day tell them, you don't have to ever worry about money ever again. I also want to be able to tell my future wife the same thing. If 50 percent of marriages end in divorce, I would imagine the majority of them end over money disputes. I don't want to be another statistic. I want to be able to provide for my family and have a happy marriage. I will do whatever it takes to accomplish this!

I'm just starting out with all of this, but I hope to one day be able to make myself financially independent from my parents, and to be able to help them retire. I've always been passionate about helping people, but it has to be done in a down-to-earth way so I can feel good about it. I mean yes, I do care about the financial gain for myself, but I want to help others using my talent of expression to inspire and give people hope.

Smartphones Have Become A Necessary Luxury
When I was younger, nobody I knew ever had a cellphone of any kind. If you wanted to call someone, you had to use a landline, which usually consisted of a house phone or a pay phone. Back in those days it seemed like we got along just fine without…
