I am a fifty seven year old profoundly deaf man who has a Cochlear ear implant which has been such a boon since I had it done. I wasn't born deaf and had completed my secondary education, but, decided to do my compulsory National Service before moving on to University, rather than after completing University. Unfortunately whilst doing this I became desperately ill and came close to death. It was whilst in hospital that the doctors who fought so hard to save my life, gave me a drug which cured my illness but left me profoundly deaf. Once out of hospital and learning to lip read I was accepted at an Agricultural College, the only deaf lad there and managed to earn my Agricultural diploma and I began work on the family owned farm. Sadly we lived in a troubled country and I was forced to leave. I ended up in South Africa and eventually leased a farm with a friend of mine from college days and ended up buying that too. I have now lived in three different countries and at present am living in the Republic of Ireland. But times are hard and so I have decided to try and branch out on all this Internet Marketing. Wish me luck. More importantly, because of the wide experiences of my life I consider myself a teacher. Not in the conventional way but a teacher of life and experience. It's just that people never like advice and seldom listen to it? Isn't it odd though that so many people from so many different walks in life, confide in me? It's a strange old world all right and if you read between the lines, you will find another funny thing, I'm a motivator of people. Just don't ask me why.
