About 2.5 years ago my husband came up with the brilliant idea to get a bearded dragon. I made sure he read a book cover to cover before we committed to the purchase of a bearded dragon. I knew this day was coming. For the 18 years that I have known him and owning a bearded dragon is something he always wanted to do. Why? Because he loves dragons!

Once we got to the pet store and were looking at the dragons I made the silly suggestion of getting 2 so they can keep each other company. I grew up with dogs and now have cats and they always need a friend to keep them company, right? Apparently lizards are different. We had to learn this from experience because it was not mentioned in the book he read or the research he did.

After about 6 months of owning the dragons, a co-worker of mine has a daughter who wants to get rid of her bearded dragon. She knew we had purchased ours shortly after her daughter got hers. We agree to adopting another dragon. We love animals and want to help when we can. This dragon we adopted was underfed and cold. We had a lot of work on our hands to rehabilitate him to make him become more social and plump.

Now we are 2 years in to owning 3 dragons. We have been through a lot of lessons learned and I would love to share my experience and stories with you. I know it doesn't seem like 2 years is a long time, but with 3 dragons we have learned quite a bit. These dragons have certainly grown on me and I can tell you that I love having them.

We have 5 animals which consists of 2 elderly cats and 3 bearded dragons. My husband has instilled a no pet rule. We will see how long that will last!
