I'm just new to this whole blogging world. I figured I'd take a stab at my part of the internet. Every now and then I have thoughts that I want opinions on or just to get out there and I figure this is as good a way as any.

I'm graduated from Civil Engineering and have been working in the heavy civil construction (highways, bridges, buildings) world since 2011. I've always loved working with my hands and not being stuck in an office. I've always had a more logic-based brain (compared to an emotion-based one) and a science/math background. I'm always looking for the "why" answers to everyday topics. I enjoy learning things and telling people what I know in hopes that it helps them.

In my area of work, I've had to drive a lot. With driving comes a multitude of maintenance. Because of the amount of driving I did (~70,000km/year), came the maintenance. Because of the cost of maintenance at a dealership, I opted to do the work myself and love working on cars. I've turned $800+ maintenance into $150 and a Saturday afternoon. This is where knowing the things about my vehicle comes into play.

To many automotive DIY'ers, the Haynes books are can be a life saver....provided they're written for your vehicle. I have not been able to find any for the vehicles I've owned (2011 Wrangler, 2013 Veloster Turbo) and have such decided that I should create a foundation for people who are looking to learn about the workings of a car, to Veloster specific maintenance. I want to do this not only in written form but using as many photos as possible. With the advent of the internet, people will be able to include their experiences, and offer tips and advice for their experiences in hopes of helping others as well.

As well as being an avid hands on amateur mechanic, entrepreneur, and a young professional in the construction world, I have grown up with a very athletic background where I played soccer for 19 years, basketball for 10 years, football for 1 year, softball for 6 years, and my desire to try many others. I love being outside, camping, offroading, rollerblading, biking, or any other excuse to be outside.

Along with loving the outdoors, I'm also a fanatic when it comes to personal research (not the stuff you pay to do in school). Finding the best deal on a product, looking up the meaning of a word/idea, learning about the latest tech; these are all things I find myself doing quite regularly.
