My name is Wayne Douglas and I am a bassist.

Early in my musical career I played 'cello, string bass, tenor saxophone and baritone saxophone, but I finally settled on bass as my instrument of choice.

I love the sound of the bass and the role that it plays in modern music. I love the feel of the instrument and enjoy playing so much so that it has become my profession.

I was educated at the California Institute of the Arts, which is better known as a school for aspiring artist that would like to enter into film, animation and the like, but they also have a vibrant music school for those whose what to do musical scoring for film or just perform in the studios.

My musical career began in 1967 when I was asked to become the bass player for the Motown act, Martha and the Vandellas, traveling and playing for them. I was tapped by their Music Director because I read music and played pretty well at the time.

Since then I have worked with many artist including, Sonny & Cher, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, The Sylvers, and many others both on the road and in the studios. Now I am giving some of my knowledge and experience so others may benefit.
