When it comes to understanding the art of allowing most of us are pretty clueless, for we have been taught to constantly look out for all those things that might go wrong and could present potential dangers to our livelihoods and well being.
I have done years of personal growth work, unearthing all those hidden areas that might stop me from moving forward with my life and embracing new opportunities with alacrity instead of letting outdated views on how things should unfold stop me.
A critical point and stumbling block to financial freedom and abundance is the fact that it always entails a shift from where you are now into an unknown reality.
In my life I experienced the biggest challenge, when I started to learn to trade short term off intra day charts. As a beginning trader I had the usual preconceived ideas new traders have about the trading profession:
Nothing prepared me for the change I had to embrace in my world views, the tests of my value structures and the expansion of my conscious awareness that would unfold on the path that eventually led to lasting trading success.
When setting a goal, like attaining financial freedom we see the goals we set ourselves from our present level of awareness. We see them from the vantage point of our present beliefs and values we hold of ourselves and our world.
Naturally, this is the only way we can be. There simply is no other way of being, because in every moment we can only see what is possible right now with the cognitive awareness we have right now. Sadly, when we are setting goals we are not told that the goal will change, and actually has to change when our cognitive awareness starts to grow and expand.
This shift feels uncomfortable to us and we start resisting the new feelings it evokes, instead of embracing the shift and allowing the change to manifest. Transition periods are seen by many as awkward and difficult because they uproot that which makes us feel safe.
Any change though, no matter how beneficial it is for us, brings with it in its wake feelings of disorientation and some discomfort as our minds and bodies settle into a new reality.
It should go without saying that these shifts includes adjustment of our ideas along the way. We should be prepared to reset the compass occasionally instead of becoming flustered the moment our goals unfold in a different way from what we had planned.Yet most of us allow our judgement of how a goal, like our financial freedom, should look like, get in the way of the universe working its magic because we have forgotten to change in order to align with our goal.
Old patterns of suppressed fear and anxiety are stirred up and need to be cleared in order to free us up to move into the new space of a new reality. Financial freedom is born through the art of allowing and that means giving yourself permission to become a new person with new ideas and even better values and better ways of performing.
