How to spend your money like a rich person
Most people think that having a lot of money makes you wealthy. But what if I told you that it is how you spend your money that makes you poor, middle class, or rich? It goes against everything that we are taught about money. However, if you think about people who win the lottery or fall some other way into a large lump sum of money. They are back at the level financially they were before they won the money in just a few years. Why? Because they don't know how to keep the money and make more money with it. They spend it without knowing how to replace it without a job.
Spending like the poor
The poor have their money come from an outside source like a job. Now it doesn't matter at the beginning of your journey where you get your money, but where it goes. Poor people don't like debt. Their money comes in and it goes right out. They pay cash for everything, and stay out of debt. If they get more money as a bonus or present, which is when they go and buy the nicer TV, the newest phone that is out at the time, etc.
Spending like the middle class
Middle class spending is getting into debt, bad debt. They have their money come from an outside source, and they have the mortgage payment, credit card payment, car payment, etc. When they get a bonus or a raise then they move into the bigger house, buy the faster car. Their money comes in and goes out to all the debt payments that they have accumulated.
Spending like the rich
Rich spending is different. They get their money from their investments, and that money goes for their toys, payments, etc. If they want they the new car, but want to maintain their wealth and not spend their money. What they would do is find an investment that can pay for their want. For example, you can save up let's say $2,000. Now you can go buy a the car that you want, (poor spending, the money comes in and goes out) or you can buy it with payments, (middle class) or you can go buy something that will make you money, (an investment, rich spending) and then that investment gives you money to pay the payments of your car. You will then have the car and after it's paid off you will still have the money producing investment that will give you money every month.
You can change how you spend your money
When I first started learning about the different ways to spend your money I spent my money like a poor person. I didn't have anything in my name or bills, my money came in and it went out. Then I saved up enough and got a secured credit card to build my credit and I went to the jewelry store as well. I bought things with the credit card that would help me with my business, (laptop, wireless router) and paid the payments every month. (Middle class spending). While I was spending like a middle class I saved up enough money to start a loan process where I could borrow money to spend on cash producing investments. I did that so I could start building my passive income , and would not have to work all my life for earned income. So you can very well change how you spend your money and move up the ladder to start spending like a rich person. One of the first steps though is to recognize where you are right now so you can determine where you want to go.
Fascinating! Thanks for sharing how spending money will make you rich by sharing ways of spending money of the poor, middle class and rich.
Dear Joshua, I also enjoyed reading your article and it motivated me even more to become someone who is spending like the rich! I am just a university student, but I am quite determined and invest money in things that will hopefully generate money in the future. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much. Its great that you're in college! I am glad I have motivated you to take action. Changing your spending habits really can make you rich.
Hey Joshua I enjoyed reading your article, especially where you explain how the rich people spend by creating a return first then use that return. So it actually doesn't cost anything, in a sense.
Thank you. Multiply your money first, then spend it. Its pretty much like spending the interest on your money. Otherwise the principal goes down.
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it. Spend your money like the rich, and you will be rich!
Another great article, Josh. Sounds like you're into the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series. I loved those books myself. I teach college and when I try to pass along these lessons to them, they look at me like I'm from another planet. Maybe I'll use your article, then give them a test. Yeah, you might just become part of my business class. Thanks, buddy. Kali
THAT'S SO COOL! The smile on my face is incredible right now with my stuff being used. Thank you! And throwing an idea out there, depending on how you like using the article and how they get the message. Maybe I could create some little articles for you to use about different concepts if you would like. Just a thought. Let me know how it goes tomorrow! Are you also involved with WA?
I was involved in WA for four months and learned a lot. I think the group is awesome and can't think of a better place to learn about affiliate marketing. Budget issues caused me to have to back away for a while. I haven't decided whether to re-join WA. If you want to look at what I created with the help of Kyle, Carson and all the great WA members it is Disabled Cyclist.
Something I just thought of right now. Try checking out my website. wealth mindset builder let me know what you think, I would love your feedback. It is going to go through some changes with connecting the pages more, but that is what I am building. Like I said, would love your feedback.
Josh, I love your website. It is my Entrepreneurship class all condensed into one easy-to-understand place. You have done an outstanding job of outlining what it takes to make money. I am particularly impressed that you didn't overload it with links to WA. This is what I think of when I think of an authoritative site. My class is going to have to do a book report this semester. I may allow someone to report on what they learned from yoiur website for their project. As I was reading your site, I noticed a visitor from Idaho on my site. Was that you? I usually have Google Analytics up on a spare screen when I'm working. The other thing, are you aware I have a couple of horses on my place?
You are just making my day more and more! Thank you so much. I am really glad that someone has said that it is great from an outside source. You know sometimes it takes that outside person to really confirm you are doing a good thing, or have created a good thing. I was really shooting for that all in one place type of thing. And I'll admit, as you probably saw I do have links to WA, because it is a source to learn how to make money online and so I want to give them the content and information, and then a way to act on that information if they choose. I would love to know what more you would like to see from that site? What questions do you have that I can answer on the site? How can I better connect the site together? That way it isn't just dead ends at the end of each of my pages. Yep, that was me. I love your site as well. And will be coming back for more!
Thanks man! Keep up the spending and you will be rich!
Good layout of major points, simply written for comprehension, and it all makes such good sense. This article could very well be life changing to some.
Thank you very much Vivian. I appreciate the great comment. I try to break things down into simple step by step actions and am glad I have achieved that with this one. Don't forget to share it!!!
Very nice, interesting article! Be careful of the long paragraphs. best to limit them to 4 lines max. Nice work!
Thanks for both comments! I had a problem with this article getting approved without the last paragraph being that long. Its a long story, lol.
