Would You Participate In A Speed - Eating Contest?

What types of contests have you participated in for money? You may have entered a poetry contest or guessed how many jellybeans were in a jar, for example. Would you ever consider getting involved in a speed-eating competition?

Competitions are a unique experience for both the participants and the spectators. The contestants may be either very nervous or very confident, depending on how often they compete. If they are nervous, they breathe deeply, trying to calm down. If they are confident, they smile and wait patiently for the contest to begin. Regardless of how nervous or confident a contestant might be, he feels millions of eyes upon him and focuses on giving a good performance. Spectators enjoy a good show and take in the whole scene--all of the contestants, the audience, and the suspense in the air. They cannot look away and miss a moment of the action.

In the case of a speed-eating competition, a contestant must eat a plate of food in a record amount of time in order to win the contest and get the cash that he is after. If he gets sick, he does not get the money. People might want to participate in this type of event for the sake of doing something new, different, and exciting, but there are several reasons to avoid speed-eating competitions and find other ways of earning money.

One reason to avoid participating in them is because no one enjoys being sick. It is unpleasant and uncomfortable. When you are sick, you wind up spending the day lying on the couch and trying to get well, rather than going on with your plans. You may have big plans for the night, like joining your friends to go listen to a motivational speaker speak at a local college. After the speech, there will be a reception with coffee and doughnuts. Do yourself a favor, and skip the contest. That way, you can save your stomach. You will feel better, and you will not have to stay home, miss a great speech, some good coffee and doughnuts, and some valuable information.

Another reason not to participate in them is because if the competition has you eating a food that you like, such as caviar or jellybeans, and you get sick, you may then hate the food and never want to eat it again, thinking that you will get sick again. Enjoy your life. Do not get sick of the food that you love.

Finally, regularly participating in these competitions could cause a person to gain weight. He would have to begin a fitness program and stick with it. He might run every morning before work, for example. A routine like this would allow him to continue participating in these competitions.

Speed-eating contests offer an opportunity for some excitement, and for those who wish to participate in them, I have a piece of advice: eat at your own risk.

not good for the health in so many different ways, digestive juices created whilst chewing can not keep up with a sped eaten meal. Dangerous Dangerous Dangerous. Might be fun now, but it will later in life come back to bite you so to speak.

Very true. Eating fast is a good way to choke. Also, the brain does not have time to register that the person is full, and he winds up eating way too much. Thanks for reading!! :)
