How to Heal Acne Scars Naturally

Acne scars are a nuisance, to say the least. You might be wondering how you can heal your acne scars naturally - and I applaud you for taking that route! (is it weird to say 'I applaud you?'). There are plenty of natural remedies to treat acne scarring, and while I won't promise they all work for you (since everyone is different, everyone requires different treatments) you should see some improvement with at least one of them. Here are some great natural acne scar remedies:

Turmeric. This spice is a popular one in curries. Did you know that Indian cooking was born out of traditional medicine? Interesting trivia aside, turmeric is great for the body, both inside and outside. Taken on the inside, turmeric helps to detoxify the liver, reduces inflammation, improves the mood, assists in damaged skin and helps to heal wounds as well as acts as a natural pain killer. On the outside, turmeric helps to improve the complexion of the skin, reduces pigmentation and can help to heal current acne. So, while you probably don't need all of those benefits of turmeric, you can certainly see why using it in some way could help to heal your acne scars!

You can purchase turmeric in a pill or capsule form from any health store, or have a look online. If you want to use it straight on your skin then I suggest trying a paste (turmeric plus a little water). Be aware that the bright yellow powder can stain, so I suggest trying a small test area first. Remember to wash it off well when you're done.

Exfoliate. This is kind of the little brother of dermabrasion. Well, actually they're completely different, the only similarities being that both involve scrubbing the skin. If you have bumpy acne scars then you must include some form of exfoliation in your routine. You can exfoliate simply by using a rough facial cloth or loofah. Massage the skin gently but firmly once a day to help slough off the old skin and to improve blood flow in that area.

Rosehip Oil. This is an essential oil that's been used in South America for years (since that's where it's made). Rosehip oil when used frequently improves the tone of the skin, helps to moisturize it as well as fading scar marks. It can be purchased from any health store, or online. Make sure that you get a one hundred percent pure form of the oil - you don't need any products with the oil 'added'. The pure form will be sufficient.

Those are just three ways to help heal acne scars naturally. There are plenty more great acne scar treatments, and I suggest that you do try others. The key to successful treatment is just to keep trying. Persistence will win in the end!
