I suffered from back acne for a long time, and while I tried MANY different kinds of acne products that promised results. I didn't notice any change besides my wallet getting lighter. I've learned a couple things on the road to getting a clear back, and I'd like to share with you the three top tricks that I used so you can enjoy an acne free back, too.
Many companies that produce food have started pumping added hormones into animals, and other things to make them grow faster, bigger and taste better. When you eat these foods, those hormones go into your body causing you to break out.
A really good way to fight against this is to detox the body. While this sounds pretty extreme, its rather simple. There are a couple different ways to detox the body, but my preferred method is to go on what is called an “apple fast”. Apples contain a high level of anti-oxidants that absorb the unwanted things in your body. Because it takes about three days for your body to completely digest the foods that you eat, a three day apple fast acts as a way to cleanse out your body of all the unwanted hormones and other toxins that may be running through your body causing your breakouts.
Not everyone likes to eat apples, neither did I, and if this is the case for you, you can also mix in grapes to help with the taste. Try to eat at least 6 apples a day during the 3 day fast. Remember, nothing else besides apples (and grapes if need be) and drinking water. I can imagine this might sound pretty harsh to you, but its a small price to pay for an acne free back.
When you cleanse your skin, you probably only use hot water. And while hot water is great for opening up the pores making it easier for the acne treatment to do its work, hot water also rushes blood to the pimple making it bigger and harder to get rid of in the long run.
Because you still want to use hot water before treating your back acne, the best way to counter the bad effect of the warm water, is to use cold. While your in the shower, and after you've applied any cleansers to the skin, turn the water cold and let it run over your back a couple minutes. You can also use cold packs (otherwise known as freeze packs), and while lying down, cover the areas that may be affected by bacne. Let the cold packs rest on your back for 5 to about 10 minutes. If you can't take the cold at first, feel free to put a thin sheet between your back and the cold packs until you've become accustomed to the cold.
The cold water will do a couple to rid back acne. It will lower the redness of any pimples that you may have, making them smaller and less noticeable. The pimples will go away faster, and the cold water will tighten up the pores, making it harder for future pimples to arise.
The last thing that you'll want to do, is to treat the pimples that you already have, by using baking soda. I wish someone had introduced me to baking soda sooner as it was key to helping me get rid of back acne. This simple treatment penetrates your pores, goes far into the pimple where the bacteria is, and kills it. This will not only stop the pimple from getting bigger, it will help the skin get rid of it faster than it would have by itself.
When your taking a shower, use a soft bath scrubber to spread the baking soda over the affected areas. Let this settle for 5 minutes, then rinse off with cold water. Practice this 3 times a week for best results.
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment Gary :) I hope the information given here is helpful to you. The cold water could prove difficult with arthritis, but if the cold water is out of the question, perhaps the other tips will do the trick. Best of luck! Ammon.
