I was shopping the other day and saw a young woman with a severely disfigured face. At first I thought she had been burned. I didn't stare because I was taught from a young age it is not polite. A little later I came face to face with her in an isle-way by accident. We said hello and made a couple of brief comments to each other and moved on. It was at this point I realized that she wasn't burned but rather had severe scaring left over from multiple acne break outs.
She was young, attractive and dressed very nice but the scars on her face were distracting from her overall appearance. It just made me think how it can take only one little thing to complete damage your self esteem. I can remember when I was young and suffering from acne how embarrassing it was and I can only image what some one must feel like to have permanent scaring from acne.
If you are suffering from acne you are not alone. Three quarters of the western population has to deal with acne of varying degrees. This is mostly prevalent for those under 30 but ten percent of all adults have acne. Some, like the young lady I met in the grocery store, are left with acne scars to forever remind and annoy them of this.
Can something be done to remove acne scarring?
Scaring, whether it is from acne or some other type of injury to the skin, is part of the body's natural healing process. This process takes some time but is usually completed or "as good as it gets" at the end of a year. That is why it is so important to take action as soon as possible to boost the healing process because if you wait to long then more involved procedures that require a professional will be needed to remove acne scarring.
- Avoid picking at acne or the newly left scars. This actually can damage the skin in this area and impede the healing process. If a scab is present it needs to be left alone to run its course. This is an important part of the skin's healing process and tampering with it will only increase the risk of permanent scaring.
- A quality skin cream can be used to keep the affected area from getting infected and drying out. Keeping brand new scars moist goes a long way to minimizing their appearance or even helping them to disappear over time. Natural products are best and some of the better ones contain Emu Oil or Aloe Vera.
- Direct sunlight should be avoided during the healing process as scar tissue does not contain the protective pigment and oils necessary and sunlight can darken and damage the area causing the scar tissue to be more pronounced and noticeable.
Prevention is the key. Avoiding things that cause acne in the first place should be your first line of defense but even if you have acne and the resulting scaring you can still take steps to minimize and even remove acne scarring.
Medical researcher's have done extensive studies on natural methods that can successfully remove acne scaring. Findings prove that most scarring can be effectively reduced and even eliminated by using the proper procedures. This is without the need of expensive skin specialist or risky medical treatments.
These findings, though published, go unnoticed by the established medical community. But you can quickly learn about these all natural methods. These methods have been published in "The Scar Solution". A must read if you wish to remove acne scarring.
