Acne scars removal is an often searched phrase on the internet. This is because not only is acne a problem but also the scarring that is left behind. In fact, for some the acne has gone away or they have grown out of it but the scars remain. Every time one looks in the mirror they are reminded of the pain and suffering and because of this the anguish continues.
I had a brief encounter with a young woman a couple of months ago while grocery shopping. At first I thought she was a burn victim. But as we talked I realized that here facial scars were from multiple acne break-outs in the past. Her face was acne free but the depressing scars remained.
Acne scars removal is no easy task. This is because once the acne is healed the scarring that remains can still grow or swell in size. Sometimes the healing process gets carried away and builds to much skin material in the affected area. In time the size of the scar will start to shrink but it may not completely go away.
The healing process is complete anywhere from 6-18 months and as scarring ages it becomes more permanent. That is why it is so important to start treatment as early as possible. You will have to decide what treatment path to take. You basically have two options. They can be used separately or they can be combined.
- Self-treatment
- Professional treatment
There are many self-treatment methods and these generally revolve around natural methods that have little to no side effects. Creams, exfoliates, moisturizers and diet are just some of the techniques. These have the advantages of being used in the privacy of your own home and are less expensive than acne scars removal by a medical professional.
The off side is you will have to take the time to research and learn about natural remedies for acne scarring and then implement the strategies all on your own. For some this may be overwhelming but for most it is completely do-able. Good organization and a routine is the key.
For more difficult acne scarring or if you are not a motivated person then professional treatment is for you. A medical professional or a Dermatologist will not only manage your progress but also motivate you to do what is needed to succeed. You will also have access to treatments and technology not available at home or over the counter.
The down side is this type of treatment costs more money and can be expensive. You will have to plan for doctors visits and take the time out of you busy schedule.
You can combine both methods. If you take this route be sure to keep you doctor informed of what you are doing at home so there will not be any conflicts. If you wish to use all natural remedies for your acne scars removal be sure to communicate your wishes to your doctor.
There is an interesting read about scar removal called "The Scar Solution" and is written by a medical researcher and former scar victim. Acne scars and other types can be successfully eliminated using the techniques and tips found in this guide.
