Figuring out the best ways to quit smoking is going to be different for everyone trying to kick the cigarette habit. When I attempted it I tried several methods, and it took me many attempts to figure out which one would work for me. Below are the 5 best methods to rid yourself of smoking.

Cold Turkey- This is by far the hardest one IF you have no willpower. But, with a good support system and determination it can be the least costly and you will not run the risk of havibng another addiction as you would with prescriptions and some other methods. For me after trying others, I finally used this method, and some of tghe ways to quit cold turkey is keeping your hands busy, sucking on hard candy and chewing gum. One thing that helps is keeping your reason to stop in your mind. Overall, this is tough for most but can be one of the best ways to quit smoking.

Nicotine Gums- I tried this one and maybe you have as well. It has gotten good result for quite a few, but personally I couldn"t get past the taste of it while chewing. It is one of the better ways to quit smoking though.

Hypnosis- This method has come on strong in recent years. With several sessions and a good therapist you can be programmed to think you are a non smoker. Of course depending on how well your mind reacts to the sessions, it could get costly if you have to have hypnosis more than a few times. If you are not of the strong willed type, which many are not it can be a good way to go.

Acupuncture- One of the oldest known medical techniques, acupuncture is believed to work by triggering the release of endorphins (natural pain relievers) that allow the body to relax. As a smoking cessation aid, acupuncture can be helpful in managing smoking withdrawal symptoms. Ask your doctor for a referral or search for a local practitioner at the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM).

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)- This is extremely popular. One reason is you can see immediate results if you follow the steps. NLP has been used for many years in developing your individual communication skills, improving relationships and finances. Now with NLP being applied as one of the ways to quit smoking, it is one of the best cost effective ways to finally put cigarettes down for good.

To increase your chances of success, you need to be motivated, have social support, an understanding of what to expect, and a personal game plan on how to quit smoking. It is possible to learn how to replace your smoking habits, manage your cravings, and join the millions of people who have used the best ways to quit smoking and kicked the habit for good.
