Can you believe there is such thing as “Facebook Addiction Disorder”? Seem crazy to me, but I can believe it, because I’m a Facebook fanatic, not much so of a Facebook user that uses it for fun, but more so of a person that uses Facebook for business. I will tell you straight up that, I’m on the computer at least 15 hours a day, and on Facebook at least 7 hours of those hours. Not unless I have to get out and take care of business, I’m always on Facebook marketing or writing articles to post them on Facebook to market again. Am I addicted? Maybe so, but at least I’m using it to make money for my business.
Parents no longer have to worry about text messaging or even high telephone. These things are still around, but not as bad as teens on Facebook. So, what is Facebook Addiction Disorder? FAD is a condition that is defined by hours spent on Facebook, so much time in fact that the healthy balance of the individual’s life is affected. Crazy as it may sound; about 350 million people suffer from this condition.
What Makes Up a Facebook Addict?
Tolerance, withdraw symptoms, reduction from friends or love ones, virtual dates, and fake friends make up a 100% Facebook addict.
For the most part, my tolerance to be on Facebook is high, but it’s like that for the internet, period. When my friends hit me up and want to go out. The only time I don’t go out is when I don’t have a baby sitter. Telling friends to meet me or talk to me on Facebook is very unlikely of me; I’d rather speak to you on the phone or text you. Most people chat with me on Facebook if they know I’m on there and they can’t get in touch with me or simply people I’m networking with. For the most part, I don’t claim anyone to be friend unless they are my ride or die hard real life friends. Everyone else are Facebook connects.
So, I ask again, am I a Faceebook addict? Truth is that there are some parents who totally hate Facebook and have no intentions of ever understand or liking it, then there are parents who are friends with their kids on Facebook, join conversations on Facebook and even hit them up on it just to ask a simple question instead of yelling from the hallway. Sure, parents can have a significant impact on the younger crowd, but what about adults?
If you an adult using Facebook for fun and not using Facebook for business, you definitely adjust yourself and outlook of it, because Facebook for fun will not pay your bills or help you get involve in your children’s life.
Final Thoughts on the Subject
It won’t be over night before you actually stop being addicted to this social network, but if you’ve ever wanted to start a business and market it, you can learn how to use Facebook for business so that you add that extra revenue to your income while having fun.

It's just a matter of balancing the two really. It's not bad to make some fun but you must also give some time for more important things like business.
Balance is good, you always have to balance things out, because too much of anything is bad for your health.
i think that people who are always in facebook can prove useful to us who are using it for business. Without them we have no one to market our products or services to. But I do agree that there has to be balance though. :)
Oh yea, of course Jan. Every good idea has its faults, and we as business people leverage on those faults. Everyone cann not be business saavy, just like in the real world, however without those people being on there wanting to buy stuff, play games, and chat, there will be on business people on fb, and what good is that right?
Making money and having fun sounds like a good plan to me.
Who you telling Steve. There is no better way...lol having fun and not making money is a complete waste of time when dealing with fb.
Sounds like there is no clear definition of what an addiction is
hmmm, addiction is when you are obbssed with doing something that you have no room to do other things in your life that are important to you in your life and it also affects your health and way of thinking and your way of doing normal things you use to do. Did I hit on the nail? lol
I think you can get addicted to just about anything - they say it's an addiction when the thought of living without something makes you feel panicky!. Sure there quite possibly are people that are addicted but for many it's a way of life because things are different now - when I was young I used to meet up with my friends for a chat, my kids socialise on facebook - and real time, as it happens!
IKR..lol, life is so funny now days... I mean, what happed to writing peoples phone numbers on paper? LMAOOOO, communicating is way different from what it use to be, and Facebook is def a way of life now for the young generations. Only folk that are not interested in FB are the ones that are illiterate to the internet.
My younger son might have had FAD but he pulled himself out..and went swiftly into online games..I'm giving him some encouragement to balance his time better..lets see what develops.
