We all know that smoking is bad for you, right? In this day and age, it's a no brainer. All of us should really stop smoking. But what exactly is bad for you about smoking? Today, we are going to look at one thing that the anti-smoking people lay the blame on. Nicotine. What is the effect of nicotine on your body? You may be surprised to find out.
Let me begin by stating the not so obvious. The effects of nicotine in your body are very similar to the effects of caffeine in your body. The reason that this is not so obvious is because the anti-smoking people, activists if you will, are dead set against admitting this. They will have us believe that smoking cigarettes and ingesting nicotine are the same thing. They are not. I don't quite understand why they take this position, but they do.
So, what is the effect of nicotine in your body? One effect is a feeling of well being. People use nicotine as a way of reducing stress in their daily lives. They also use it to reduce anxiety. Some people report that using nicotine helps them focus on a task at hand, allowing them to become more productive. Are these bad things? I don't think so.
Another answer to the question of what is the effect of nicotine is an increase pulse rate and also increased blood pressure. However, these things are very brief. Do you know what else briefly raises your blood pressure and your pulse rate? That's right, caffeine.
In all the years that people have been using nicotine, and that's a very long time, there is still no evidence that using nicotine causes a risk of cancer. Yes, you read that right. there is absolutely no evidence that nicotine causes cancer. And in addition to that, research shows that the risk of cardiovascular disease from using nicotine is minimal.
If you ask one of these anti-smoking people what is the effect of nicotine, one of the things they will tell you is that it is addictive. Okay. I am going to go out on a limb here and say something that is really controversial. Nicotine is addictive. So what? I mean if you are addicted to something that is not harming you, or anyone else, and it is something that you enjoy and even maybe benefit from, so what? Okay, I guess now I've really made some people mad.
The bottom line is this. What is the effect of nicotine on your body? Probably not as terrible is many people think and certainly not as terrible as many would have you believe. There are much safer ways of enjoying your nicotine.
