Turkey is a strikingly beautiful country, which is adorned with historically rich architecture, amazing food, warm people and absolutely stunning and divers elands capes. This makes Turkey an incredibly popular place to visit – it is a land of cultural diversity and this gives it a very special, and unique edge.

Before traveling , you will need to apply for a Turkish Visa – thankfully this is quite a simple process, but it is a necessity, if you want to visit and explore this extra ordinary country.

You can obtain a visa up to three months in advance of your travel date. Turkey has influences from many different cultures, including Persian and Ancient Greek civilizations, which stretches back for centuries. Istanbul is the home of the stunning Topkapi Palace which is a must see for any visitor. This site was actually used as house for the Sultans, for many generations and has beautiful gardens and spectacular views looking to ward the Sea of Marmara.

Another famous site of course, is the Blue Mosque which is synonymous to Istanbul and probably the most iconic site to adorn Turkey. It was built around the 17th Century and can lay claim to being one of the very few mosques in the entire world to have six minarets. The tomb of the Sultan Ahmed is here and the mosque we sits name to him.

The Hagia Sophia is another must see – it really is an architectural wonder and reflects the Ottoman period. This beautiful structures tarted out as a Church before becoming a Mosque and finally, a Museum.

There are some fantastic museums in Istanbul which can be reached from Topkapi Palace. This is a great place to learn a little bit about Turkey's history and is particularly good for children thanks to the interactive displays of Alexander the Great – stories really come to life here!

Istanbul is a city which is rather cosmopolitan and which has the ability to bring together both new and old architecture. This does give it a uniqueness, and the stunning and ancient structures that can be found through out the city almost take you back to times of ancient civilization.

Enjoy some shopping at the markets or sample a Turkish Coffee with some of Turkeys delicious and varied cuisine. Turkey really is a place for soaking up the diverse atmosphere at your own pace.

If you feel like venturing a bit further, the stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cappadocia is especially worth while. Think cone shaped chimneys, and interesting natural rock formations, with a fascinating cultural her it age which stretches back to the Bronze Age.

It is a site that is seeped in ancient history and is a great way to immerse yourself in a country that has had so many important influences and periods. Indeed, this is what shapes the country. It manages to be modern, whilst some how still being able to take you back in time!

It has a great climate and the people are friendly and very welcoming which makes it an ideal destination Turkey visa.
