Why Winter Is Challenging
We are in the middle of a blazing summer. But the winter season will creep on us very quickly. During winter applying vehicle wraps is not easy. Since a heat source is required in the application of the vinyl. Normally the temperature of the sun is sufficient, but during winter this will be unavailable. But your car wraps are the best marketing tool you have or for your clients. You cannot afford to lose your clients during the winter season. If you are a vehicle wrap company you cannot afford to hibernate during the winter season.
During winter applying your boat wraps maybe difficult but it is not impossible. You have to consider certain factors though. The graphic designers of the wraps will not have many problems, but for the printing and applying companies they will have to face certain challenges. Apart from the climate general factors that affect the vehicle wrap process are the cleanliness of the vehicle, if the vinyl comes in contact with any chemicals, tears and holes in the vinyl and then of course the warmth needed to apply the vinyl.
What You Could Do
So if you have to apply car wraps during the winter, the foremost thing you have to do is to thaw the frozen vinyl. If the vinyl was stored in a large or cool space it is very important to climatize the vinyl. This process means that you have to prepare the vinyl in this case to the preferred temperature or climate, so that it can be used in comfort. When you have prepared the vinyl for the preferred temperature, you must then check if the temperature on the surface and the temperature of the air is the same. They should at least meet the minimum specifications of the data sheet of the product.
Then you must make sure that your room for vehicle wrapping is the perfect temperature to apply the vinyl. You can ensure this by having heat source devices like heat guns, space heaters and torches. They will increase the temperature of the vinyl. This will ensure that the adhesive in the vinyl will flow and stick to the surface perfectly. Failure to do will leave the vinyl away from the surface causing wear and tear easily. Once you have your boat wraps, you have to be aware to not expose it to extreme cold temperatures for 12-24 hours after immediate application.
