Can Marriages Survive Affairs?

If you are reading this article, you have probably recently found out about infidelity in your marriage. I must apologize. You must be thinking can marriages survive affairs? Is this something that people can actually get over and move on?

Surviving an affair is something that isn't easy to do. The funny thing is that if you and your partner can work through the affair, you will probably have one of the strongest relationships of all your friends and family.

The best thing is to get some help when trying to figure out can marriages survive affairs. And I dont mean your best friend that hates your husband help. Or your mother who hasnt been married for longer than most vacations. I mean get a book on relationships, or find a life coach or counselor.

You may want to look at a workbook type of program. A lot of the time when a person is going through dealing with an affair (both the cheater and cheated), they have all these emotions bubbling up inside them, including wondering can marriages survive affairs. Sometimes people tend to do things that are detrimental to their relationship out of these emotions. If you get a good workbook about healing marriages that have gone through affairs, they will explain to you what your emotions mean and how to deal with them.

You may be the one who was cheated on and feel really guilty about it. How should you deal with that guilt? Is guilt something the one who has been cheated on really feel? That guilt may turn into anger. What do you do now. This is when a lot of people tend to make the biggest mistakes. They don't understand how to use that anger and turn it into something that will be beneficial to the relationship. Often times someone will do something really stupid when they are angry, like beat in the headlights of your significant others car. This is not a good idea! (Hopefully you know that already).

Once again you are probably thinking "Can marriages survive affairs? Really?". Yes really. Dealing with all of your emotions is going to be difficult and not something that is easy to do. This is why it is so important to have a plan. When you have a plan or a reference book, you will be able to look at it and figure out why you are feeling what you are feeling and how to deal with it.

Will a book save your relationship? No you have to! You will be the one who has to put in the emotional work. Once again, it isn't easy to do, but so worth it. If you and your loved one are able to work past this, your relationship will soar. You wont ever have to ask again can marriages survive affairs. You will know that they can and can turn out to be better than ever.
