I got scammed. Although not as bad as the ones who really took the bait. I received a phone call from a recovery company within the last 6 months. They advised me that the company I "worked" for was discontinued and in trouble. If I wanted to file then I could get some or all the money I had paid to them. In all fairness the company was offering a great business opportunity. If only they were to follow through and do their part then I could of actually made money. The same type of service they, (and I), were offering is a service that is very successful for many legitimate companies. They never allowed me, or many others, to progress without purchasing their help. Also, they never intended to go any further after that. It is a shame to see something that could be extremely useful turn into a trap for people who really want to be useful and work from home.
For example, I believe that children under school age, ( and not pre or pre - school age), that is 5-6 years of age need their mother or father home with them at all times one parent homes are an exception to that rule. They should still be with some person that has a connection to that child. That is hard for one parent homes and as long as you are doing the best you can to provide and care for your children then in my book that is great and I admire people who try all they can to do right by their child(ren), even though it is tough. To do this, anymore, is a struggle because of the increased cost of everything.
So, it is only logical for the one who can make more, to work full - time and the other part - time. That means that one works all day then when they are home the other goes to work for about 3-5 hours. This is only making matters worse, if it is a long term situation. I had this experience. You hardly see your significant other and your always tired of it.
This is why I decided to tell my story of the false advertising, gimmick selling, predators that say you can work from home. First of all, I want to work for a company or for someone from my home. I don't want to start my own business. At least at this time. I don't want to pay someone to work for them. I want someone to pay me for it. I don't want to try to do the same thing by offering people needing a job but need to stay home an opportunity to try to scam others the same way to earn money. I don't want to get my family and friends to buy or join anything. My biggest pet peeve about the "useful" internet; When they tell people "you've won" or "it's free". When did winning anything mean,"buy stuff from these other company we are working with, worth 2 or 3 times more worth your prize and you've won". Or free meaning, "only after completing these offers that you pay for". It's the same as advertisements saying "your pre - approved, on approved credit" in small writing.
I had let my emails get backed up and I decided to, once and for all, go through them. I had several work from home messages and when I tried to click on the link every one of them had an error message stating that the link either no longer existed or it just would not go anywhere. This is what I am talking about. Every company makes a long drawn out web page showing this awesome opportunity with pictures of pay stubs and nice cars. Not one of them still have access to that website.
So, it was all a scam and not that many people bought it so they eventually floundered and the company that was so successful no longer exists. What a shame for the company but mostly for the people who were trying to make ends meet, decided to take a risk and spent their money thinking they can at least make back what they spent.
I may have a chance to recover the fees I had given to this scamming company but It will take up to 5, maybe even 7 years. That was more than $200.00! Good thing I didn't give them more. Companies or individuals that have these "successful" businesses should be shut down or at least have a Better Business Bureau for online businesses. Just because the ad is online does that mean that they do not have to adhere to the false advertising laws? What is worse, even if there was some type of laws or rules how would the criminal get caught? People use fake aliases for internet business all the time.
So how can someone be successful in finding an online business that is legit? Well, I have only found 2 and only have maintained an account with one of them for about 6 months. Although, I have not received any sales or any payments the site has not proven to be a scam. The other site I am still looking into. However, on this site there are seals and links to prove the sites credibility. I would think that it is proof enough once actualy seeing the proof that it is legit.
No person, either paying hundreds of dollars or nothing at all to join, will be successful by doing nothing. "Making money in your sleep", is what it is said everywhere. However, unless you work for your pay then you will not get anywhere. If no hard work is required at all from you then you can bet it is a scam to get your money and never produce payment for you. Also, if you don't see why they need you then it is also a scam. Actually, that was probably what caused me to become weary of the company that scammed me.
Basically, you need to do your homework and research the company you are trying to become part of. Find out how much the service you want to offer is in demand and try to get all the detaiks before spending anything. Calling any kind of business bureaus or business officials that monitor all businesses would be the most beneficial. Be careful out there.
What an awesome article! It is so true. Like you, I have been scammed by a number of 'get rich quick' schemes. Only, it wasn't me who got rich, only the scammers and my credit card company. If only there was a way the scammers could be stopped before they were able to be sucessful.
