You have to find where the money is in a niche market, no matter which niche you are in.
There’s no point in specializing in a niche if there is no money to be made.
In order to be effective in finding where the money is in a niche market first you need to have a good grasp of exactly which niche is large enough and profitable enough to provide the level of success you want (it could be a $1,000 per month or a $100,000 per month).
Next, you need to have some first-hand experience with real-live people in the niche.
Based on the understanding you gain from your research and experience you need to find problems the people are experiencing and the solutions that are proven to help them.
The first place look is to simply take the keyword list you generated from the first article in this series and plug them into Google.
Click through the first ten organic listings for the search terms. Then click on the Adwords ads on the top and right of the search listings.
When you land on the page you clicked on look for how they are monetizing their page. Are they promoting certain specific products? Which lines of products are they promoting?
Click through the product links and see which of the products are proprietary and which ones are based on affiliate sales.
Keep tabs on how many websites are offering the same products and services. Is there a trend? Do certain keyword searches always lead to a certain product? This information could be very profitable. If a lot of people are connecting to the same products/offers then that product is probably very successful in terms of generating income.
Which competing brands are being promoted in people’s websites?
By going through many websites with this mindset you will end up with a long list of possible products and services you could promote.
If you are really knowledgeable in the niche you might even come up with your own ideas on a product or service you could offer to your niche.
The most important thing you want to do is to correlate the keywords you are typing in with the products being promoted.
If you have found some products that are being promoted a lot, then you have found where the money is in that niche.
Now you know which direction you need to focus in when you set up your online business.
