I\'ve Got Mine Screw Everyone Else

I don't know about you but I am so tired of the I've got mine screw everyone else mentality. I keep seeing more and more of it too. You know what I mean, it's when someone gets what they want and you see them for who and what they really are.

Let me give you an example of what I mean. Your friend comes to you and says hey I'm in trouble I need tires for my car or else I am not going to have a means of getting to work and I will lose my job, can you help me out I promise I'll pay you back out of my next check.

You help them out but their next payday comes and goes and you haven't heard word one from this guy who was one of your best friends a week ago when he was begging you for money. Your friend got his tires and now wants nothing to do with you because he does not want to make good on his debt.

I have see a marked increase in this kind of thing not only among politicians but individuals as well over the past 15-20 years. I mean it's really not that hard to run a country and balance the national check book but the politicians all have the I've got mine screw everyone else mentality.

This really cheese's me off tho because we work really hard for our money so why should we be told buy a president who is supposed to work for us that he is going to take the money we work for by sacrificing our time and effort whether we like it or not and give it to people who will vote for him because he is giving them money.

Catch 22 anyone?

It seems like the government keeps making it harder and harder for people to make a living much less start their own business. That's why my wife and I decided to live in the Philippines where she is from because back in the states even tho we could both get decent jobs easily enough we would still be wage slaves.

We decided we would try being our own boss over here to see how we liked it. There are parts we like and parts we don't about it but I am pretty happy not to have to answer to someone else. The down side we have discovered is that being the person that other people answer to is not as glamorous as it sounds.

I wish people would just do their part and help out so that EVERYONE is better off. Any situation where one person has to suffer in anyway so that another person can be given something he didn't earn is just not tolerable to me.

I wish we had more of a pay it forward mentality like they have at WAU (Wealthy Affiliate University). It's a pair of Canadians who are setting an example for people all over the world and they are making a huge impact on many thousands of lives.

They have created an environment that encourages people to help each other. Many people when they visit this online community only see it as an education platform to teach people Internet marketing but it's more of a community built around people helping each-other learn how to build affiliate websites that both help people and generate a profit.

My hat's off to Kyle & Carson for their vision and their ability to make it a reality. I have learned so many things including how to earn money but the lesson of pay it forward has been even more valuable to me than the money I've earned because it benefits me in other areas of my life.

I have learned to be not only a better provider but also a better father and a better husband. I have discovered the more you give the more you get back.

Thanks Shawn. I think it's time people started saying how they feel and stop worrying so much about what someone might think.

As usual Ty words of wisdom and your absolutely right the sad thing is that our kids are in this instant gratification mode of expecting everything right now and not knowing the feeling of accomplishment when you've worked your butt off to get something! I have to say i am so proud of my daughter in that respect as she has always paid her way and very mindful of the feelings and situations of others in saying that she gets pretty peeved when people take advantage! As parents we really need to teach the next generation some good old fashioned principals. I love the pay it forward theme in WA it just keeps spurring me on knowing you guys are there when i get stuck and hopefully one day when i've got a bit more knowledge under my belt i can help more too!

Yeah I see that with the kids too. I have a daughter myself and i do all I can to teach her never to ask anyone for anything. When she wants something she saves for it. When she needs something i provide it for her but she knows she has her responsibilities as a member of this family and I am teaching her to take them seriously. Of course she is 12 years old so I am not to hard on her when she forgets to wash the dishes because I figure over time she will learn the gist of what I am trying to teach her. We are lucky that she is a very good student and makes mostly As and Bs because that is her main job right now but later in life I want her to be independent and self reliant. What do people on welfare teach their kids? I mean where is peoples pride? As for helping people you already know enough to be helpful to new people in the WA community or just in general with anyone new to IM. Don't feel bad about not knowing everything, we are all constantly learning and the rules are always changing and tho you still have a few of the finer points to learn you are well versed in the basics by now. It occurs to me that people are so worried about offending even a single person that they don't speak up but sometimes people need to have their feelings hurt, sometimes other people need to recognize that they are offensive to others as well. I get very offended when someone sits on their butt living off of my money when I work so hard for what I have.

it really is refreshing to know that at least among some people there is a good mentality. You always give great information!

I agree. It is nice to have one place to go that people are already acting that way

Yeah Ty, people in community helping one another is a pretty powerful phenomena. It would be great to see the same in government, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen! Good post!

It really all depends on the demands we make of our leaders. We don't hold our leaders accountable we are the ones who are accountable to them. In a democratic society the public servants are accountable to the citizens. In a communist, socialist, feudal or Marxist societies the citizens are accountable to the governments. I am holding my breath tho because all it will take is for the people to get pissed off like they did about SOPA and start speaking up and speaking out. We still have the power it's really just a matter of time before people get mad enough to use it. I just don't know how bad things will get before that happens. There is a lot of opinions on what the next four years of Obama will bring but personally I think at the very least people will have opened their eyes to some things.

Agree with your comments and wish you better for the future. The other aspect of the K/C business model is the way that being in a community of like minded people keeps you going even when times are tough and you haven't made a dime. Regards Keith

I wish better for our leaders. I don't feel they are leading I feel they are just taking advantage. We need leaders with a vision that benefits everyone across the board not just poor people but middle class and wealthy people as well. I wish we had a system that educated rather than brainwashed people. I wish we had a system where hard work was rewarded rather than laziness. I know some people were dealt a rotten hand in life, my father came from a tiny West Virginia coal mining town. His father was poor on a level that most so called poor people in the states can not even begin to imagine. It didn't stop him from being successful in life it just made him work harder. He was able to build a business from nothing to 110 people on the payroll. He didn't do that to provide for strangers and people who are to lazy to work he did that to provide for his own family. He never asked anyone for help because he was a proud man and would never ask for charity. His business model was a very good one as well, he always took very good care of his employees and payed them better than the other companies in town, something I do with my employees to this day. It takes a bit of time but I have built a very good and loyal crew who love their jobs as did he. Anymore they have it so that it does not pay to even start a business if you are able to do so and lord knows the poor guy or gal working the jobs are bound to hate it because most people treat their employees like dirt, an example set forth by or so called political leaders. What would be really great is an environment where everyone helps each other succeed not where half the people carry the load for the other half. Sure we may be able to go forward that way for awhile but if the people being carried got up and shared the load there would be no stopping us. This applies to both business and government which are arguably the same thing.

WA is so much better than I had even hoped it would be. I wouldn't be without it.

I pretty much feel the same way. I don't think people get how powerful their business model is or what it would mean to this world if our political leaders would adopt it.
