That sounds like a strong statement: affirmations will change your life. Not could change your life, not might change your life, not can change your life. It's a strong statement and a very true one. Just like the sun rises in the east, the power of our minds guarantees that what we habitually tell ourselves will change our lives.
Affirmations Will Change Your Life
Our thoughts create who we think we are. This leads to our way of being on earth, what we do each day and how we experience the actions of others. And most of our thoughts are put there by others - parents, of course, are the first ones. Then there are siblings and extended family, teachers, friends, colleagues, doctors, pastors who usually have our best interests at heart. Less obvious but more nefarious are advertising and public relations attempts to program our minds and separate us from our money.
We all remember things we started hearing when we were very small....and believing. Cautions like "you're going to fall if you keep running so fast." Praise like "Jimmy is the smart one." Assertions like "it's really hard to make a living," "you'll get sick if you don't wear a coat" or "our family doesn't do things like that" are taken as fact and it can be very hard to break away from limiting beliefs.
How Affirmations Will Change Your Life
Unconscious affirmations have created the life you have. Think about who you believe yourself to be. The younger you are, the likelier it is that most of it - smart, pretty, dumb, a good athlete, a klutz, etc - were all in fact affirmations programmed into you by others. You unconsciously reinforce these - both positive and negative - by the tape that is always running in your head. "I'm afraid to look for a new job." "I'm not good enough for that promotion." "Nobody likes me." Believe it or not, 99% of adults have fleeting and sometimes persistent thoughts that "nobody likes me!"
Positive affirmations will change your life and here's how. Start with an area that isn't serving you, like your ability to earn money. You can't stop thinking "I'm afraid to look for a new job" but you can add positive affirmations that can and will change your life. Try repeating this affirmations every morning:
- My confidence is my biggest asset in finding a job I love. Negative thoughts and negative suggestions have no power over any part of my mind or life.
That's it. Just start the day off with the positive affirmation to replace your fears and disarm your negative affirmations by affirming they have no power. Affirmations will change your life. Seize them, use them and live them!
