What Are Affirmations And How To Apply Affirmations In Your Own Life

Working with affirmations is as easy or as complicated as you choose, in their most simplistic meaning an affirmation is a productive statement that identifies what it is you wish for and stated as if you have already acquired/ achieved that which you desire.

Men and women from across the globe use affirmations daily to help them to aspire to achieve more and to generally live a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life. Affirmations have a high success rate as a direct result of the positive self talk which influences thoughts and the sub-conscious mind.

Our sub-conscious minds have a profound impact on the way we see and assess ourselves both personally and in the eyes of others. Whilst we cannot directly affect and keep on top of the way our sub-conscious thoughts works, we're able to have an effect on the mind subconsciously and present it suggestions and this is generally just what positive affirmations are used for!

So in essence an affirmation is a short, sharp statement that infuses positivity and a can do attitude into the mind of the person affirming the statements. Soon enough a lot of these positive thoughts plus statements will manifest and slowly change your inner belief system of yourself.

The use of affirmations will assist you to be more aware about all the negativity and self doubt that is stopping you from moving closer to your goals and then slowly but surely replace all of them with motivating and optimistic thought processes.

The thing is most people never really stop to question their internal dialogue and thought patterns and allow their negative thought patterns and beliefs to rule over their positive thoughts and beliefs meaning they are much more likely to adopt the mindset of "I can't achieve that, so why even bother".

Applying affirmations on your own life is neither hard or time-consuming, 10 minutes a day is more than enough to state affirmations over and over and start making lasting changes in your life.

To learn how affirmations work and start applying them in your own life there's only really three rules you must abide by which are;

  • All the positive affirmations must remain in the present tense and concentrated on previously having achieved / gained exactly what you desire.
  • All affirmations need to be stuffed with positivity and additionally impress a can do attitude (regardless of whether it would appear to be achievable or not).
  • Each of your affirmations must resonate with you and have emotional attachment, don't be vague or broad, personalize your affirmations to suit you.

A good affirmation for accumulating more wealth and prosperity might be something along the lines of;

"I am extremely wealthy and prosperous and continue to make valued contributions to ensure I maintain my wealth."

Do you notice how my affirmation is "affirming" that I have already acquired wealth and prosperity, you see you subconscious mind cannot differentiate what is fact and what isn't so by continually impressing upon your subconscious mind with these statements you're subconsciously re-programing your mind to believe it can achieve bigger and better things.

You'll want to state your affirmations with conviction, try tying them into an event or special memory as this will help tie in the affirmation emotionally, if you just state "I really am well-off as well as prosperous" then you'll struggle to convince your subconscious mind that it's reality.

Remember as well that your affirmations and ideologies of what you want to achieve in life are personal to you, no-one can mock you for them and to be honest they needn't know that you have big dreams you're actively working to making a reality.
