Are You Drinking Unfiltered Tap Water?

We are blessed where I live to be in an area of deep wells and access to pure spring water, or so I thought. I have recently changed my mind on this after seeing the results of one months contamination in a friends home filter system and seeing for myself just how much contamination is in our public water supply. Are you drinking unfiltered tap water?

How bad is it?

I was getting quite worried about the smell of Chlorine in our public water every month and I had already discovered that the city has been adding Fluoride to the water on a monthly basis. I know a friend who had installed a water filter system in his house and asked if I could see the results of one months filtering. I now will be installing one in my own home as soon as possible. The results were nothing short of appalling. He showed me a plate of the most disgusting sludge I ever want to see coming out of something I and my family have been washing in and drinking.

What all was in it?

Before you read on you better sit down. He informed me that the sludge consisted of urine, pesticides, heavy metals, drug residue, fecal matter, dirt, and more. Now this stuff is not visible to the eye coming out of the tap but the water filter does not lie, this was downright disgusting. I can no longer look at tap water as the fruit of all life, but as a poison that is contributing to cancers of all kinds, and many more health problems. I no longer am willing to drink this stuff.

What can I do?

I am now convinced that every home should have a complete water filtering system installed as soon as possible to assist in contaminated water treatment. The health risks are too great to ignore, and with the state of our heath in this country this could be one major contributing factor in why we are always sick.

At the present time I am looking into filter systems for my home and in future articles will share my results. I have found a portable one that I can carry with me and use anyplace where water is available. This filter will even work with stream and river water! This will be my first investment as I travel a bit and am afraid to drink the public water in other places after seeing what is in it around my area! Stay tuned for more information!

A filter is a must, at least in your kitchen and shower. Chloride and fluoride are bad for us. I know someone who passed out in the shower from chloride. I never thought I'd see the day it was unsafe to drink the water in the US. There is nano technology to purify the water, but it not commonly available.

Filter systems are hitting the market like crazy now. best time to start thinking about them!

Filter in the shower! That's a good idea. Your skin is your biggest organ. It makes sense that putting stuff on your skin gets absorbed in some way.

Interesting to hear about the quality of water in the US and the wide use of filter systems. Preferences vary from one country to another in Europe owing to the different quality standards in each country. I will drink tap water in the UK, but always bottled water elsewhere and preferably filtered.

Have to admit it! Clean water is getting harder and harder to find. Large farms using fertilizers and pesticides that end up washing away to the streams and rivers. I have known this little fact for years! We use a filter system from Amway. Seems to work great. Just fits under the sink and filters only for drinking. Now your article has me thinking we need a filter at our well! Thanks for the great article, Shawn!

I won't drink from a tap anymore without a filter between me and the tap! Get the site finished. I may be calling on you for a filtration system for my camper. Won't be very soon because I have no money but that should be resolving soon. I'm going to need a lot of new equipment because everything in here is broken.

I have been there my friend, lived in a camper for a long time at the local campground. I actually enjoyed it till it got cold, lol Everything working out your way?

Reply

It does get cold in Florda, though rarely frosts, it does get cold in here with the furnace not working. A space heater is just not enough. I've been in places with some really bad water. Some of these were spring holes that suddenly turn sulfurous.

I took the plunge last year and bought a purifier for our water faucet. Using a purifier has really made a big difference in the taste of the water. I replace the filter every 3 months(sometimes less) due to the "Extra stuff" coming in. Great article Shawn. Real eye opener.

Useful article! Thanks for a great reminder. 'Tis only too true. Sad what we've done to water. For myself right now? I've got two bottled water filters that are very simple bobble type filters between me and the water in a water bottle. One at my bedside and one in my car so I can have one with me at all times. Squirt 'em out for now when I heat something up! Like today when I wanted to get some ginger and cinnamon into me I put some with apples from a friend's tree... a pot of filtered water for sure!!
