Cloves Have Miraculous Health Benefits

No, I don’t mean garlic cloves. I mean those funny brown sticks with the little buds on the end that you put in ham to make it look pretty for the holidays. Those little brown sticks that you throw away once you cut the ham. They have absolutely amazing health benefits.

Did you know that cloves are hand-picked and they only grow in tropical climates. They are actually a pink flower bud that isn't opened yet from a clove tree. Inside of the clove is a yellow colored oil that is actually an anti-inflammatory.

Did you also know that these miraculous health benefits from cloves and clove oil have been known for over 2,000 years? I have to say that I did not know this fact. Until an article caught my attention and I began to investigate these little pretzel sticks, I had no idea what they could do.

Here are some very effective uses for the clove and the clove oil.

If you have ever had a toothache, then you know the product benzocaine. Did you know that a gel made with cloves works just as well on a toothache as does the product benzocaine?

They also have more antioxidants than thyme or oregano. Their nutrients are dense. This means that a very small amount of cloves, only one teaspoon, contains 63% of the manganese that you need on a daily basis.

Wolfberries are regarded as one of the most powerful and healthful fruits 0n the planet. However, one drop of clove oil contains over 350 times more antioxidants than does the wolfberries. A small bottle of clove oil has the equivalent of the antioxidant-fighting power of 40 quarts of blueberries.

Cloves also have antifungal and antimicrobial properties. They can actually eliminate scabies from your body more successfully than the topical treatment benzyl benzoate.

If you cut yourself, sprinkle some powdered cloves on your wound and you will reduce the pain and also prevent the cut from getting infected.

You can use clove oil to treat symptoms from arthritis and rheumatism. Aromatherapists have been using this type of treatment for years on their patients.

Clove oil will also cure motion sickness, indigestion and hiccups.

You can also use clove oil to treat your athlete’s foot problems and it works better than the leading treatment for yeast infections.

Cloves have many health benefits. The next time that you have a toothache, athlete’s foot, arthritis, rheumatism or you cut yourself, don’t reach for the drug store version of the cure, reach for some cloves. In fact, you should be using cloves on a daily basis.

Excellent article, Cathy. I'm with Joan, I like chewing them. I use cloves in many recipes. I bought one of those little spice grinders so I can make freshly ground spices. A jar of whole cloves is very inexpensive and will last for a very long time. Mother Nature is loaded with wonderful remedies for nearly all chronic health challenges.

Love this article and love cloves. I like to chew on a clove for the flavor. Delicious and peppery. It's a great breath freshener. Thanks for all the advice. Do they use the oil topically on arthritis?
