This diet caught my eye and I just had to find out more. The name of it is You, On a Diet. This is the second diet that I have come found related to Oprah Winfrey. I think that everyone is knows Dr. Oz or has heard of this doctor somewhere along the line.

Instead of researching what this diet is all about I had to go right to what the experts on weight loss are saying. This is what I found. This is a solid diet that finally makes dieting fun. This diet is making people excited to find out more about their bodies and what being overweight is doing to us. This diet is about shrinking your waist line through exercise, and healthy eating It promises permanent weight loss and control and a slimmer waist. This plan helps us to understand what we consider being hungry and will help satisfy our hunger in a healthy way.

In the nursing profession I have heard for quite sometime now that an accumulation of fat around the waist line is not good for the heart. This diet's focus is the waist line and it is educating people on what excess of fat at the waist line is doing to their bodies in general. This diet emphasises exercise, and goals that can be met without failure. Goals met are at a slow, regular pace. The experts also say that to eat the same foods every day, as recommended in this plan is not a practical approach., and the one size fits all is not true, all of us are different with different needs and goals. In the end the experts feel that this diet does well explaining so many areas of weight loss for success for life that they encourage trying it.

It is however recommended that if you are serious about weight loss, especially around the waist then this may be a plan for you. This plan is a healthy diet option while slimming your waist at the same time. They also state, "The average American is 34 pounds over weight and 6 inches bigger around the waist then they should be.

Now a little on what to expect from this diet. The emphasize is on measuring your waist not weighing yourself on scales. As the size of your waist is much more important than what you actually weigh. In starting the program they recommend that you clean your shelves and refrigerator of unhealthy foods. Walking at least 30 minutes every day and measuring your waist line.

This program is a two-week boost to your system through healthy exercise and eating patterns. And is a four step program. This in turn is helping to cut the cravings for foods and refined sugars that are unhealthy. They give meal plans for three healthy meals and three snacks per day. The last snack not being less than 3 hours before bed. On this plan you are given only a small option of foods to choose from so some may think that it is too restrictive, but at dinner you are given more food options. They recommend cleaning out your cupboards, and refrigerator of all your unhealthy foods, so they will not be a temptation to you.
