So many times we come across ads that tell us how to lose weight, how to exercise. Eat this don't eat that Geeeez make my head spin. I spent most of my life try to keep it simple but as you get older your body changes and before you know it your writing article to share with people to help them with an easier journey then you just endured. Hope fully it will be an even more enlightening journey then it has been for yourself.
Couple years ago
I was told I started to feel really lousy I was only 54 and was sure I was eating all the right foods. I just started to feel no energy, low grade headache that just wouldn't go away. If I got a little cut it took for ever to heal and that really scared me. So I broke down and went to the Doctors.
It appeared as a surprise to me
I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes(i always thought to have or you don't, I still do)I knew something wasn't right but when I read up on the medications I was prescribed I was terrified, no exaggeration. The pill would have cause me more harm then the pre- diabetes. So I decided not to take it and became a near expert on what was going on with my body.
Just Wanted
An easy way to tackle this, I did learn that diet and exercise would be a key element to my survival, well ok I already knew this my whole life I would read articles about nutrition (thats a lot of years of research) I always wanted to feed my son the proper food to aid in his physical development. So what is going on with my body?
It occurred to me
I have to eliminate certain foods from my diet, that are really making me sick. Which was by far so much easier all the research, food lists, reading labels, took me hours to food shop. after a while I realized all I had to do was not eat the bad food I thought was ok to eat over the years.
Got motivated
Some Warm Hearted advise: Take theses steps one day at a time or one week at a time. What ever your comfortable with. If you stress out a little its cool that just means your on the right track.
1.Start reading the ingredient listing on Labels before you purchase food. I can't stress this enough, if you can avoid High Fructose corn syrup, Just do it. If you cant then cut it down to a fourth of what your consuming
2. Start your day with a lemon wedge, in a warm 1/4 cup of water with 2 drops of hot sauce I like tabasco but any will do. This helps to purify your liver.
3. Start drinking more water daily……….work up towards drinking 8 glasses of water per day no you start to flush precious minerals that make you feel good. Here is an electrolyte recipe if you feel you need more then just water: 2 liter of water, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of iodized salt. 2 TABLESPOONS of Agave sweetener and strength lit or dark. Thats your base you can add green tea or any flavored tea, lemon, fruit( I use an infuser to save money on expensive drinks) as long as there is no high fructose corn syrup in it.
4.When you feel some stress take a Breather one great way its to breathe through your nose fill your stomach with air really push your stomach out filled up with air, hold it saying one thousand one , one thousand two, one thousand three, one thousand four. then breath out your mouth slowly. Sometimes once is enough but. . sometimes, I have to do it 10 times for those, OMG i'm Totally Stressed Days. We all have them.
5. Slowly begin to reduce or (if you are fearless) eliminate white sugar and white flour from your diet. Incidentally, if it says ENRICHED OR CONCENTRATED, its because IN ORDER TO PROCESS perfectly healthy food theY strip whatever is good for you right out they replace it with what ever saves them money at the price of our health. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH THIS DISGUSTS ME! We need to eat to SURVIVE. SHAME ON THEM!
