6. An important part of lowering LDL is increasing HDL (good cholesterol) levels. To do this, you can enjoy indulging in the right kind of sweet treat. Chocolate has been known to help increase HDL levels while your body can benefit from its fantastic antioxidant properties. The best chocolate to choose is the dark kind. It’s not as sweet as milk or white chocolate but the health benefits are by far greater.
