Treating Panic Attacks Naturally

Have you ever experienced a panic attack? people have described it as feeling like you have to escape to the point of violence. Your skin is crawling, you can not breathe, you feel like you are having a heart attack, and more. There are many treatments for this problem, and I want to concentrate on treating panic attacks naturally.

What Are They?

Panic attacks are just that, attacks of panic, and they feel like your whole world is falling in on you. They can be quite horrible, and there are many reasons for them. Some of the causes are heredity, alcohol and drug abuse, stress, and mental disease. Some people have dealt with them their whole lives, and others may have just had their first experience with them. Either way, if you have had one you will agree they can be the most unpleasant experience of your life, and sometimes it takes a few days to get over them, depending on the severity of the attack.

What can I do to deal with them?

The first thing a person must do is get educated! read, read, read. While doctors are still working on curing panic attacks, there are ways of coping with them. Search through Google and read up on the causes, and understand what you are dealing with. Once you get all the information you need you can start a program to deal with either stopping them in their tracks or completely avoiding them.

What are the causes?

Some of the causes of panic attacks:

  • Lack of exercise
  • Drug abuse
  • Alcohol abuse
  • Heart problems
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Lack of sleep
  • Prescription drug withdrawal

These are a few causes of panic attacks, and there are more. In doing your research you may come across what triggers yours.

Natural treatments.

Some popular ways of treating and avoiding panic attacks.

  • An Exercise program
  • Meditation
  • Abstinence of alcohol
  • Abstinence of drugs
  • Breathing exercises
  • Herbal treatments
  • Vitamin treatments
  • Running
  • Walking
  • Bike riding
  • Swimming

Once you know what panic attacks are, and you figure out what your triggers are that cause you to have them, you will be better able to choose what methods might help you in treating panic attacks naturally.

The biggest thing to remember if you have just experienced your first attack and are worried about having another is you will be alright! You are not going to die, and the attack will pass.you will feel it coming on and at that point you can have a friend talk you through it, and at the onset take deep breaths and calm yourself down.Walk it off and know it WILL pass. Many times this will offset the severity of the attack or stop it completely.

I hope this information helps you in dealing with these attacks, and please feel free to share this article.

Excellent advice Shawn. Panic attacks can be triggered by all sorts of things and at the time it does almost feel like you're going to die. Long term low level stress can be one trigger, it happened to me twice when I was living in a particular location I found claustrophobic. As soon as I moved away they stopped.
