This video was one of the best ones I have ever seen. I really enjoy watching movies and documentaries, but I never seen anything like this. This video was more than a movie. It shows a lot of different cultures, most of them from the southern part of the world. It shows what people do and how they live life. It was just amazing to me to see all these people from around the world doing life. It is very hard to explain the feelings I had while watching this video. It seemed like I was watching Mother Earth, not people.
It feels like everything was combined, the people, the sky, the ground, nature, and the water. It was as if everything I saw was as one. That's why I had this feeling that I was watching Mother Earth, and I was able to connect with her. I was able to see what she does, and goes through everyday.
Also, by watching this movie I was seeing that there is a pattern in the universe. I was able to see that there is an order in which things function and occur every single second. Sometimes within this pattern things can seem negative; but good or bad, these things or patterns have to happen in order for life to continue.
I remember in one scene there was a group of ladies, probably from somewhere in South America. They were gardening, and you could tell they were humble people. Life seemed very simple for them and they were just enjoying life. They looked so content doing what they were doing. From this side of the screen when you see people like that, doing what those ladies were doing, it is hard not to feel sympathy.
A lot of people will say, "Oh look at those poor ladies working so hard in order to survive." However, from their side of the screen, they are as happy as can be, because they are doing what they were meant to be doing at that time. They probably know this, and they accept it and just enjoy life as it is. Being from a third world country I know how hard life can be. My family didn't have much growing up, I mean we had basically nothing. However, I never remember my grandparents complaining about life. Even though, they were extremely poor, they love each other and enjoyed life every single day of their lives.
That's what I saw watching POWAQQATSI, different people from different cultures living life. All of these people are living and enjoying their lives and just being a part of the great circle of life.
