I had to go out to the store the other evening rather late. While in line at the checkout I had noticed a police officer purchasing a couple of cans of a popular energy. I asked why he was purchasing them and he responded that he needed it to get through his overnight shift. I asked him if he knew what was in those drinks and the harm it could cause. He responded with a “no” and didn’t even know they were bad for his health.
He didn’t know that most energy drinks contain Taurine. There is as much as 2000mg of taurine in energy drinks, however in studies there has been no proof of positive or negative health affects. In some cases it acts as a mild sedative. Sedative? I thought they were “energy drinks.” Glucuronolactone. I don’t think anybody really knows what this stuff does. The most research done on this ingredient was done more than 50 years ago. Rumor has it that it fights fatigue. Caffeine. One can contain 3 times the amount that is in a can of Coke. Caffeine acts as a stimulant, temporarily warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness. Niacin, also know as vitamin B-3. However there isn’t enough in a can of Red Bull to get the full effects of this vitamin.
As I drove home I heard a commercial for a product called Nu Vigil. A new product that is supposed to increase alertness. They claim to help with shift work disorder. Shift work disorder happens to people who work during the night when your body is used to being asleep. I do believe that our bodies have been used to normal sleeping hours. This goes back to when we were young and we had to be in bed at a certain time to be alert for school. As we get older we may have jobs that do not let us sleep during the normal hours that our body has been used to. The product says it helps with Narcolepsy. This I know is a problem that some people have and it needs to be treated. Drugs alone will not help with narcolepsy. There has to be changes in a person’s life style, like a proper diet, counseling and changes in their every day habits.
As I listened to the commercial they started to list the side effects of this drug. Reading the list took almost the same amount of time it took to talk about the drug.
Headache, nausea, dry mouth, anxiety, dizziness, and difficulty sleeping. Other side effects may be easy bleeding/bruising, signs of infection (e.g., fever, persistent sore throat), mental/mood changes (e.g., agitation, confusion, depression, hallucinations, rare thoughts of suicide), unusual tiredness, dark urine, yellowing eyes/skin.
Seek immediate medical attention if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: severe abdominal pain, chest pain, fast/pounding/irregular heartbeat, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing/swallowing.
Wow. I was amazed. I became very interested in anti-aging and vitality about 6 months ago. This is when I found a product developed by Pharmanex and distributed by Nu Skin. AgeLOC is not a product you take to boost your energy. Its research has been proven to restore 92% of the aging gene. This naturally restores your vitality, mental clarity and libido. There are 3 main all natural ingredients in age LOC. Cordyceps Cs-4 Mushrooms Mycelia, Pomegranate Fruit Extract and Phamanex Asian Ginseng Rb1.
Cordyceps have been proven to strengthen the immune system, build muscles, improve physical performance, provide anti aging and reduce fatigue. It has also improved the sexual function in men by stimulating sex hormones. Fighting free radicals, unclogging arteries and reducing hypertension are just some of the benefits of Pomegranate Fruit Extract.
Some of the benefits of Asian Ginseng are, reducing stress, improve sex drive and reduce menopause symptoms. It can also boost the immune system and fight off cancer.
With all these positive benefits that ageLOC can provide you why would you want to put products in your body that can hurt you? I’m especially concerned that many of our police officers, fireman, doctors and nurses may be using energy drinks or this Nu Vigil product. If you have used energy drinks before you know the aggressiveness they can cause in you. Can you imagine if you needed to be treated by a doctor who has had a few cans of these drinks in him? I urge everyone to do the research as I have done before you take any product. You will see that for your money ageLOC is the wiser choice.
