Exercises to Eliminate A Double Chin

It can come from being overweight, heredity or loss of muscle tone, but what you may really need are effective exercises to eliminate a double chin. Your double chin may just be starting to take shape, or it may be extremely noticeable. In either case, the goal is to find out how to get rid of a double chin fast.

Sometimes you may have a double chin and loose or sagging skin on your neck for a real double-whammy. Aside from surgery, what may help tighten and firm both the chin and neck areas are some good targeted exercises to tone the underlying muscles. Effective facial exercises can tighten sagging skin and eliminate the double chin, giving you a nice profile and alleviate the embarrassment caused by an out-of-shape chin and/or neck areas.

Get rid of double chin

In order to get rid of the double chin, try the following exercise. Do this exercise twice a day every day for 14 days and you will start to see a difference.

  • Position your thumbs under your chin, one thumb in front of the other, while resting your fingers on your jaw, where the jaw meets the neck (under the earlobes)
  • Press the tongue up against the roof of the mouth
  • While pressing the tongue against the roof of the mouth, slightly push the thumbs into the skin underneath the chin and slide from the front (right underneath the chin) to the back (where neck starts)
  • Each time you press your tongue to the roof of your mouth, one of you thumbs slides from front to back. Repeat with alternate thumb
  • Complete 40 repetitions. This is a quick movement and you can do 40 reps in about 2-3 minutes

You should be able to feel the muscle as you alternately slide your thumbs underneath the chin.

Try this exercise twice a day for two weeks and you'll start to see the double chin area firming up.

Exercises for the neck

You can’t have a great looking chin with a sagging neck. To tighten up the neck, try this exercise.

  • Open one of the hands and place under chin area (thumb should be on one side of the chin, remaining fingers on the other side of the chin)
  • Tilt head back and jut chin out towards the ceiling
  • As neck is stretched, move open hand down the neck to the collarbone area and hold for a count of ten
  • Do 5 repetitions

These are just two of the simple yet effective facial firming exercises that can restore a more youthful and certainly more attractive jawline.
