If you want to discover the secrets to youthful skin and how to stay young looking, you will find that it is not as difficult as you may think.  You will find the answers to your anti-aging questions here.

Secret #1:  Eat Right

The first secret to youthful skin is eating the right foods.  Foods rich in antioxidants are not only excellent for preventing and erasing lines and wrinkles, they are also good for your waistline.

Foods such as berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries) and vegies like spinach, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots will boost the level of antioxidants in your body, which will neutralize free radical damage, restoring healthy cell production.  Healthy cells result in healthier skin, and a reduction in lines and wrinkles.

Secret #2:  Take Your Vitamins

Most people cannot eat right all of the time.  That is why it is very important to supplement your diet with vitamins.  The best anti-aging vitamins for your skin include:

  • A (Retinol)
  • C
  • E

At the very least, take a good multi-vitamin, rich in antioxidants.

A great and easy way to get your antioxidants is to drink tea.  White, green, Oolong, rooibos or black are all great choices to quench your thirst and boost your antioxidant level.

Secret #3:  Skincare

You should get in the habit, if you are not already doing so, of keeping your skin clean and moisturized.  A good skincare program is really important if you want to freshen up dull, tired skin.

A gentle cleanser, followed up with a moisturizer, is a good place to start.  Using alpha hydroxy products will help slough the dead skin cells off the surface layer of skin, ultimately exposing healthy, fresh cells (and skin) underneath.

A facial, and/or exfoliating, once or twice a week will not only give you softer skin, but will help pull out impurities and toxins that tend to hide in the sebaceous glands.

Secret #4:  Antioxidants

Do you see a theme to the secrets?  The theme is, of course, antioxidants.  If you can keep your antioxidant level high, you will have an excellent chance of preventing future lines and wrinkles, in addition to reversing some of the wrinkles already in place.  Free radical damage is a huge factor in aging, and the more you can control and prevent free radical damage, the healthier your cells, resulting in more youthful-looking skin.

Secret #5:  No Secret Here

Other "secrets" for how to stay young looking are fairly obvious, but are sometimes overlooked:

  • Always wear sunscreen
  • Cut back on alcohol / stop smoking
  • Drink more (pH balanced)water
  • Get the proper amount of sleep
  • Exercise (even a 15-30 minute walk per day)

More Secrets

In addition to loading up on your antioxidants, you may want to check out a detoxification/cleansing program, as well.  The more impurities and toxins you can eliminate from the body, the better your body will function.  This will help healthy cell renewal, which directly affects the clarity of your skin.

Balancing the pH levels in your body (lowering acidity) can help with a number of health issues, and certainly accelerate the efforts of your anti-aging plan.

Summing it Up

What "secrets" can you work into your schedule to turn back the clock?  By simply walking more, keeping your skin cleaned, exfoliated and moisturized, taking your vitamins, eating right, and filling up on antioxidants, you will see healthier, younger-looking skin in no time, and with very little effort.
