It can be hard to figure out exactly what steps you should take to feel and look healthy and young. If you want to get on the fast track and find simple ways to look young, read on to discover three things that you must do.

As the years go by, it is easier to feel the aches and pains, have less energy and look in the mirror to see more fine lines and wrinkles with each passing day. The good news is that there are simple things you can do for an almost immediate change in your appearance.

Control and Prevent Free Radical Damage

The biggest factor in aging is free radical damage. Finding ways to stop, reverse and prevent it is vital to preventing disease and aging in general. If left to run rampant in your body, free radicals can cause heart disease, cancer and age your face and skin, in addition to promoting other age-related illnesses.

To put a stop to the damage cause by free radicals, you need to increase your level of antioxidants, which will help you feel and look better very quickly.

By taking antioxidants supplements, drinking green or black tea, eating foods rich in antioxidants (a general rule of thumb is the deeper the color, the higher the antioxidant level), you can give your body what it needs to fight free radicals and begin to heal from and prevent the damage.

Protect Your Skin

If you want to help your skin to look younger, you need to protect it from the sun. The sun may feel wonderful and warm on your skin, but those ultra-violet rays are one of the top reasons for sagging and wrinkling of the skin.

Never go outside without a good sunscreen to help ward off those damaging rays. Even in the very long Wisconsin winters, the harmful rays of the sun can cause tremendous damage to your skin.

Another big skin aging enemy is smoking. I know it is hard to quit, but smoking and sun damage both accelerate free radicals, which is why the skin of a sun-worshipping smoker looks so old and leathery. Keep trying to quit smoking no matter many times you have to try.

Not only will your skin look younger, but you can help lessen the damage to virtually every single organ and cell in your body.

Collagen Building

As you grow older, the amount of collagen produced by your body decreases. If you have a loss of collagen, you lose elasticity in your skin. If you lose elasticity, you will have wrinkles and sagging skin.

You need to take really good care of your skin which includes washing the face and neck each morning and night. Once fresh and clean, invest in a good collagen-building cream so the skin can begin to rebuild the framework (collagen fibers) under the skin surface for a firmer, healthier, younger look.

These are just three simple things you can do to accomplish your goal of feeling and looking younger. There are certainly a lot of other things you can do to turn back the clock, but if I had to pick three simple ways to look young, these are my top three choices as a starting point.
