Anxiety is not a great feeling and at one time or another we have all felt anxiety and fear as a discomfort in life. Nobody is excluded from anxiety as even the simplest of daily happenings can trigger it ( after all we all get bad luck or bad days every now and again ). Sitting around awaiting the entering of an important test or exam will always throw up a bit of anxiety and fear. If you are phoning up an individual to ask whether they are available for a date will cause the dreaded butterflies or anxiety - just about anything can cause anxiety in our lives.
For some however this anxiety and fear is a lot worse - in fact it completely takes over their lives. The anxiety can completely overwhelm these people and block them from living an ordinary, happy life. Over the last few decades experts have began to look at these symptoms more seriously and there are a lot more techniques and self help advice on the market to provide possible cures.
To understand anxiety and fear will help you to combat possible panic attacks. It is a normal reaction to feel mental pressure when we are put in front of a stressful situation that may scare us. It's only an alarm clock that is built into our bodies. Bearing that in mind - you can say that anxiety has an advantage in some instances. Anxiety can help us remain 'on edge' or 'sharp' in a testing situation in some instance.
So how do you know when anxiety is effecting you? What should you look out for? If you are in school or college do you often worry and lose track of your study responsibilities - this can easily be a sign of anxiety. Do you feel you have become slightly irrational in daily life, fear of things that are maybe a little far fetched - another sign of anxiety. Do you become stuck in a rut when preforming everyday chores, do you need to do them in a certain routine or order every day - again this can be an alert regarding anxiety levels in your life.
Some people reading this may think that people should just get a grip on themselves and 'man up' a bit through life but anxiety and fear can lead to bad physical symptoms to like pounding heart/chest and constant cool sweating. The physical and emotional symptoms of anxiety and panic strikes are regarded as very serious.
Interesting article. I really did not know that doing chores in the same way every day is a sign of anxiety!
