Passion Flower

Passion flower is another natural anxiety remedy. A research shows that, passion flower can be compared with benzodiazepine drugs. Like most of the anxiety remedy, passion flowers also have some side effects such as vomiting, drowsiness, rapid heartbeat and nausea. It is also not recommended to take this remedy during pregnancy or nursing and not suitable for children or people with kidney disease. Since it’s quite a powerful herb, one should not take it without a certified doctor’s prescription.

Both of these herbs have powerful effect on human body but they have considerable side effect as well. The side effect of passion flower is; vomiting, rapid heartbeat and nausea. During pregnancy and nursing time such herbs are not recommended. Similarly, this herb is also suitable for anxiety in children and people having kidney disease. Compared to passion flower, kava has more severe side effect. The herb named kava increase the risk of liver injury. For this reason, both passion flower and cava should not be taken without doctor’s prescription.

Using Valerian

Insomnia is a prime reason for anxiety disorder that is why treating insomnia means to cure anxiety disorder. From this point of view, valerian herb is a fantastic natural anxiety remedy as it has the ability to cure insomnia. Valerian herb should be taken at least one hour before bedtime. If you can take this herb regularly, you will experience the result within two or three weeks. Any medicine or herb that has effect on nervous system should not be continued for long term. This is applicable or valerian herb as well. You should not take this herb more than three months. Though not something severe, valerian also has some mild side effects. Taking valerian herb for long time may cause palpitation, indigestion, dizziness or headache. Some people do not like the smell of valerian herb and if you are one of them, you should take the capsule form of valerian. Beside this, liquid extract of valerian and valerian tea are also available in market.
