How to Deal With Panic Attack Symptoms

Every day, people tend to be anxious about their day to day lives and this is normal. Some people though, experience other forms of anxiety which are usually sudden and very intense and without been taken good care of, they can be at risk. A panic attack is a sudden experience of intense anxiety. It is a sudden urge which comes with an overwhelming anxiety and fear.

Dealing with panic attacks requires a person to first understand what they are, symptoms and risks in order to be able to manage them without difficulties. The symptoms may be physical or emotional. Some of the panic attack symptoms are:

- Racing heart. A person under a panic attack may experience sudden changes in heart like beating faster, harder, slower louder and at times even misses a beat.

- Difficulties in breathing.

- Chest pains.

- Feeling dizzy or numb.

- Sweating and stomach upsets.

- Feeling week.

To be able to deal with the attack, it is very essential for the patient to first accept that they are having them in order for them to overcome them. Some of the best strategies of dealing with these attacks include:

1. Understanding about the attacks.

Most of the times, they are frightening but it is very important to keep in mind that they are not an illness but only a a state of mind. It is advisable for a patient to familiarize themselves with the symptoms so as to be able to control them when they attack.

2. Learn how to relax.

When under panic attacks, a person may feel stressed and anxious and learning about how to relax is a good way of helping them deal with them when they attack. Though it may not be easy as it sounds, it helps in relieving tension and stress thus very important. It is also advisable not to avoid the situation since the more they are avoided they more panic they tend to generate.

3. Have regular exercises.

Been involved in exercises regularly is one way of relieving stress. Exercises such as aerobic are very essential since they not only help in overall health but also in managing stress, releasing tension and thus improve the person's mood and self confidence.

4. Visit a doctor.

Most people complain of their problems worsening thus visiting a doctor may be the best option. It is however advisable to consider other options from medicines since they can make the problems worse. They can also be addictive and even alter the brain into generating a feeling that it can only cope with drugs.
