My doctor, a licensed medical specialist in psychiatry prescribed me with medication, but only as a short-term solution. As an ethical professional the doctor also made me aware that pro-longed use of these medications would be out of the question in his mind. Long term use of any medication could lead to addiction. What really helped me to overcome this disorder that I experienced were the natural anxiety remedies; relaxation techniques and behavior-modification exercises that my psychiatrist provided as being long-term solutions for my disorder.

Let me now provide you with a well-known natural remedy for curing anxiety attacks. It is an effective remedy for the individual who goes through the stress in having frequent anxiety, (and/or panic) attacks daily. It is called the “20 second countdown”. This is how the exercise works. When you feel the symptoms of an oncoming attack: anxiety, racing heart, tingling sensation, high level of nervousness, chills, etc., you talk to the anxiety attack as if it was an affront to your very being. You give the attack 20 seconds to occur. Not one second longer. Not 21 seconds, or 24 seconds. You are giving it 20 seconds. You stick to your guns. After the 20 seconds is gone, you tell the anxiety attack that “it’s over, complete, finished”. You then begin counting backwards from 20, slowly down to 1.

By setting a specific time frame, it is you who is establishing boundaries of control. You are the individual who is calling the anxiety attack’s bluff. What you are doing is establishing the following. It is you who is the “boss” over your mind and body. The attack is not the one in charge of you. You will soon realize that by doing this exercise at the onset of what you feel is an impending attack, very soon nothing will happen.

That was just one of many natural anxiety remedies that have been proven successful in your being able to train your mind in dealing with the onset of these attacks. Methods like these require a little effort and practice, but it has worked for tens of thousands of people worldwide. Pretty soon, and without prescription medication these anxiety remedies will prove to be the answer allowing you to take back control of your life.
