Anxiety is caused by numerous triggers, such as worrying about a future event, or a sense of dread or panic, or just a sense of uncertainty. Many health problems can result, such as: heart palpitations, nausea, chest pain, and many extremely serious conditions. What if asking questions could relieve anxiety?
Could it really be that easy to relieve anxiety and stress by asking a question? Much of the time when we are anxious we have come to a conclusion about a situation and how it will turn out. An example of this would be the anxiety you may have before a dental appointment. You assume that because one time, five years ago, you had a dental appointment that didn’t turn out so well. In fact, you had so much pain that you could barely see straight and it lasted for days.
So you are entitled to worry about that upcoming visit, right? Well what if instead you asked, “what else is possible” or “what are the infinite possibilities that this dental appointment will be easy and pain-free?” Do you think that might make a difference in the outcome? Could it possibly open you up to different possibilities?
Constantly reaching conclusions before an event can lock you into getting a negative outcome. It goes along with the Law of Attraction theory, where what you think about, you bring about. If you ask for “what else is possible” the Universe can start searching for new alternatives for a better outcome.
So let’s say you have asked for what else is possible and you find yourself at the dentist’s office and in the middle of pain. What question can you ask while in the middle of trauma and drama? You can ask “how does it get any better than this” repeatedly. And you may be surprised that suddenly something changes and everything stabilizes and the pain stops.
The next time you are worrying about something that MAY occur, instead try asking “what else is possible” or “what are the infinite possibilities.” And if you’re not convinced, continue asking the questions. See if your body lightens up a little bit and you feel a little better.
By all means don’t try this with other situations like money worries relationship issues. What might happen if you looked at your checkbook that has a small balance and ask “what else is possible?” Hmm. Now that’s something to ponder a little. Find out more about anxiety relief here.
