Aromatherapy for Happiness, Joy, Peace And Focus

Being happy is a very individual thing. What makes one person happy doesn’t necessarily make another person happy. Happiness is something that most of us strive for, to be able to accept who we are and where we are in life and to make the very best of it each day.

Some people may feel that happiness comes from a sense of accepting your limitations and may feel that this somewhat of a ‘lack’ mentality or attitude to have, as to accept where we are in life and be happy about it may stop a person from trying to achieve more for themselves.

I guess the key is balance. To be happy with who you are and where you are, but to also be true to yourself with regard to what you want out of life and to put positive steps in place in order to achieve these things.

To live in the present moment is actually quite difficult to do if a person is not practised at it. In the face paced, have it now society that we live in, we can get lost so easily. Many people have a sense that they need to be more, they need to do more, they need to see more and that there never seems to be enough time, that there are not enough hours in the day!

To live in the present, I mean really live in the present, enables you to make the most of that time. To really focus on what you are doing at that moment and to do that to the best of your ability with a happy frame of mind is the key to true happiness in my opinion.

If you find yourself having a bit of a kick around with your son in the garden or the back yard, or perhaps you need to take an elderly parent to the shops or the doctors all the while you’re thinking of the emails that need your attention or the job that needs doing, this takes your focus away from the present moment and adds to your load.

Let’s face it, thinking about the emails or the job that needs doing doesn’t get them done so why focus on, or give your attention to, something unless you are right there and able to tackle it?

If you focus instead on having a kick around with your son or taking an elderly parent to the shops or the doctors, it will enrich the experiences all around. You can turn that time into proper quality time with your son, which is so important and precious. Or you could have an enjoyable chat with your elderly parent or have a laugh with them.

If you make a conscious effort to be in the moment, you’ll enjoy this thing called life so much more and it will deepen the relationships you have with those that care about you and of those you care about.

Essential oils can be used to assist our journey towards happiness, joy, peace and focus. I have outlined some essential oils below.

Essential Oils For Happiness

  • Orange
  • Rose Otto
  • Rose Maroc

Happiness Blend 1

  • Orange – 19 drops
  • Rose Maroc – 5 drops
  • Jasmine – 5 drops
  • Clove – 1 drop

Happiness Blend 2

  • Pimento Berry – 5 drops
  • Geranium – 10 drops
  • Cinnamon – 5 drops
  • Ginger – 10 drops

The blends can be added to 30 ml of carrier oil to create a massage oil.

  • Lemon
  • Sandalwood
  • Bergamot
  • Orange
  • Rose Otto
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Neroli
  • Chamomile Roman
  • Mimosa
